I choose red, again. Red line. Edge. Halfway around. About one hour’s worth. Just about. Just to say. The stories are mostly here on the blog. My current teaching/explaining is mostly in the Forever Zone. I will take a few days/tries to shift my video approach and try to get it to where I can continue there with ease. New spot, new editor, old tripod, sky lighting, new mood. And a simplified, to the point, approach. Shorts. Easier. Just showing. When needed. […]

Ok. Done, the year that is. It’s been interesting to say the least. Personally, very enlightening in very unexpected ways. I do not feel wiser, I simply feel kinder. Not by connecting. In some sort of standing back way. Perspective maybe. Letting folks be. Practicing forgiveness while realizing things cannot be unsaid. Except by saying more. Wondering how the art of dialog got lost. The last stitches on Alphabet Soup. The Wrap Stitch is actually, or has become my favorite […]

And here I am, we are. I kept going to complete the quilting all around the edge. I met up with U. And Unicorn. I did a bit of quilting on U while I was there. You can see, here at the bottom there are lots of empty spaces. And I have left spaces in the corners as well. And that is not O , it is an unfinished Q. Some of these fabrics are hard to stitch through, especially […]

This isn’t advice, it is just what came to mind while testing the writing over the picture thing, changing colors so the letters were still visible. It worked. I am settling down like the season. Looks like snow coming? It really is about time for this endless summer to come to a close. I just sense the change will seem sudden. More sudden that I am used to. I added a thread line by splitting hairs, the same method […]

This Old Heart Been calling this that. I added circles. A basket. I stitched them with Deb’s thread, the one I call sketchy thread, mostly whiteish with some dirty grey marks. I remember asking here about black and whiteish, if she could do that. And she did. Using one strand, on this scale, a lot like a drawn line. Line, another subject to be revisited. I thought I might be done, but then SUNflower popped back up, because it is […]

Sometimes a big ol’ patch is just the thing. (Continued from here, in case you weren’t here yesterday…) I think Dee sent me this cloth, but my memory cannot be depended on these days. Patching is applique really. I left the top edge ragged, that makes this cloth a cobblecloth. As if it wasn’t already? I tend to use single thread for quilting these days. I was more likely to use 2 way back when. Interesting to see the play […]

There is no point, she said to her(my)self, to blog without allowing comments. What’s the point then? That’s the thread that runs through it. Holds it together. Validates this cyber space as a place, the web. So then what is the point of comments if you don’t answer them? If you can. 6 strands of thread here. A bigger needle. A bit harder to pull the thread through, but problem solving is what we do. That is what growing is. I […]
