Yesterday, Liz, she mentioned Design Mending. I responded and then suddenly listened to myself, saying it has all become that. And yes, I truly feel that. Which goes back to my feelings about thingness and form. It is all moving. I source my energy from that. …after some stitching. The dots/circles look a bit like bubbles. I did not intend whales. Just life flow. But now they are there. …after some folding just to remove the house from view. Maybe […]

And I am simply here. It’s still a curtain, not necessarily for this window, and maybe that will change. I think it might be leaning toward blanket/curtain. A transitional sort of cloth. The holiday lights are still up, probably I will never take them down. Actually I will probably move them out to the porch, they make nice nightlights. I couldn’t find them when we moved in. I always had them hanging in my studio back on the island. Instant […]

Out of control. It’s that time of year. The cucumbers have escaped the fence and the Malabar spinach is everywhere. There are definitely more than enough tomatoes for the chipmunks and us. The paths are becoming hard to navigate. I will make some changes next season. There IS a garden. And then, I remind myself how little control I seem to have over how to get to things these days, but still I am growing. My capabilities have seriously diminished […]

There was a bit of sweaty stitching yesterday. It reached 94 here. This morning 57. I didn’t want to cover the original embroidery so I worked the 2 points with thread. Deb thread. It was a slow challenge, I love this appearing and disappearing. I used what I call the wrap stitch. There is a lot of old cloth around here, I have ideas. I watched a squirrel friend fall prey to a fox friend. There wasn’t much else I […]

Good Morning… The craziness here has not diminished. Some new roof issues have prolonged the process. And increased the cost. But hey, whatever gets done here will last a lifetime, especially ours, at this point. My Impression of May is just as it can be. I do feel it is a Mothering on many levels. It is comforting me. Demanding nothing in return. Instilling a sense of going that feels natural. It is helping me understand order without feeling limited, […]

Yesterday’s Heart was so Sure a piece in the ever growing Sanity series that suddenly came together just yesterday. I went back to find a loose note to self I remember so clearly. But I can never find exactly where it is kept. So I wrote it down again. Because I am right here, today, chasing it in a new way and also trying to redefine how heart is slowly becoming a personal symbol apart from the mainstream sugar. And […]

Yesterday, on Instagram, I posted a little video, because it was easy just to capture a few moments. And I said: If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is to leave your edges open, because form evolves. And fringe is my symbol for continuing. I know I have said that before, but in the context of layers, the natural build up of layers in collage type work is a covering up process, but I love interrupting […]
