Sunflowers are on my mind. Still, but S is a wee bit down the road. It’s a symbol, I added it to the glossary but I will gather my thoughts later. Just Sunflower then. Right now it is too hot and I’m having breakfast. That’s right, cookies, I’m going through a phase. Internet is spotty. There was a bit of rain yesterday but it only made it more humid. The ground is still dry. Ants are coming in looking for […]
Lately. Every evening when it cools a bit, I sit on the porch beneath the center skylight, and look up. Last evening, there was looking back. Outside looking in. And I said, out loud, this is just how I feel lately. I found a lot of old thin silk that was hiding in an unopened box. I continue to play with small bundles. Not waiting long enough to see, but long enough to know that what I imagine might actually […]

For a long time now, inspired by Dana… …the cloth I call Grow, remains on the table, as a Table Cloth. It made a a great backdrop for seed sorting yesterday. While we enjoyed a few drops of rain for about 2 minutes. Here in lower New York State, where water is everywhere, declared a drought area with reduced ground water for at least the near future, expected to continue now for however long. Birds , bees, squirrels, chipmunks and […]
Be in it. The haven I created here is not just for chipmunks. All of it, just is here within view. More life. As it is and will be. Earth Weeps. Under the needle. Weaving on my mind. Because weaving is a special kind of holding and a special kind of reminder.
Out of control. It’s that time of year. The cucumbers have escaped the fence and the Malabar spinach is everywhere. There are definitely more than enough tomatoes for the chipmunks and us. The paths are becoming hard to navigate. I will make some changes next season. There IS a garden. And then, I remind myself how little control I seem to have over how to get to things these days, but still I am growing. My capabilities have seriously diminished […]
July, almost August really and I feel as if the season has only begun. You might note that this one isn’t as big as it seemed in yesterday’s photo. The large cloths seem smaller outdoors. I love that. It is only about 36 ” square-ish. And. It is quite thin really. From the back you can see it started as a woven panel backed with thin cloth and then placed on a larger thin cloth (dyed with acorns), I cut […]
Not sure how much rain, but a lot. Big wind and lots of water. Water. What a powerful change in the garden. Something really big fell down in the forest, I have not checked yet. While tying up the tomatoes that fell over… I found this. Iffy internet today, that’s all I got.
