one small journey
by jude
One day, moment, into the next. A new Dot (a basket might be a dot that can hold more dots). An older technique, this is a form of Sketch Applique. But everything can be new again. There is always more to say. To do. repeating Please note that more older content is being added to the glossary. Including media. If you are using a touch screen, touching outside the box will close it. If you are using a mouse, moving […]

almost february
by jude
I lit a fire. Sometimes I stand there, thanking my lucky stars. Sometimes I am being watched. A stack of larger cloths. Because I love a stack of stories. I took this one, Balancing Act, off the wall. Put it on the big round table. Because I think, the table rings, the circles, even just the impression of basket, I need that to be part of everything going forward. Yes. And here we go. I will let the line disappear […]

just to see
by jude
That’s what motivates me. Just to see. Simple enough. I could hear it. A walk down the hill, just to see how much water has passed through the boundary wall to fuel the ever growing tiny river here. The water that springs up right out of the ground. Probably some digging would encourage more flow, but I would rather just watch this amazing process. Another thin embroidery sample, using a hoop instead of stitching on multiple layers as I do. […]

what is done?
by jude
One thing (is there such a thing?) is always becoming another. I can’t talk about what is happening here yet. It’s a C2P thing. And I am so in between. The one thing I can say is that I feel, deeply feel, both the joy and sadness in becoming. Just like that. Nameless reasons. Perhaps life’s patchwork, in perspective. Skeave is next. Looming, skeave is looming. What a fun play on words I just said to myself. Words are so […]

Wild Things
by jude
The first thing I see in the morning is the sky. Even though the window is small. The sorting continues and it is just amazing how many things are still here, forgotten. But then not really. Because they do continue, like a form born in a dream. Dream catching is very tricky. Sometimes I like the card form just because it stands. As a display form. I am not sure who might expect a card like this. I slept well, […]

old heart new heart
by jude
This Old Heart Been calling this that. I added circles. A basket. I stitched them with Deb’s thread, the one I call sketchy thread, mostly whiteish with some dirty grey marks. I remember asking here about black and whiteish, if she could do that. And she did. Using one strand, on this scale, a lot like a drawn line. Line, another subject to be revisited. I thought I might be done, but then SUNflower popped back up, because it is […]

Just Stitching
by jude
Good Morning It seems such a privilege, in these days… to be sitting here, just sitting here, stitching. Not in terms of what’s happening here, but what is happening everywhere. I got so lost in complaining about such stupid things. Yesterday, I was working on the Mothering Cloth. Today it is my mother. As I remember how she used to say, “Don’t worry, something will come of it.” Something. Can be anything. Some new loose thoughts on framing this morning. What […]

Imagine
by jude
The photo is blurry. As imagining can sometimes be. Maybe needs to be. Always is. Elusive. Always flowing. Just going. Building starts small. I love the sheer moon, like looking through a time window. Some sort of layer of perspective. Not stitched, just a place keeper for now. A yesterday. And a tomorrow. Both. Held by nothing. That is so comforting. What is it that encourages us to imagine new worlds? Not money methinks. I posted on Instagram yesterday. I […]
