Quilting Takes Time

This one, the Nest of Days, has two integrated sides.
I even just like the thought of that.

Just days and days gone by. Holding them. Quilting on the edge of a large cloth is like weaving the edge of a basket.

Be prepared.
Can it be possible?
Expectation.
Thoughts. How it might go.
Good or not. Always there. And how it goes…always a surprise anyway.

A question. There was a question… And now a response: I was going to make a video but now they are predicting 4-12″ of snow and very high wind and I need to get to the post office and the market and I am sure everyone else has the same idea… so maybe later. Every bit of this one is important for me.

The only pic I could get was through the porch screen. Three deer women, they came together and wandered off together. We blew the snow off the steps but where we walked remained like a cold story. On a whim, I stitched in circle around the center of the earth cabin, to make it dot like. I used a double running stitch, magic style, but this time using one strand of floss. The dot is not as obvious as I […]

Mini Cabin #2, again a Moon Cabin. Still loose. Yet framing, holding center. When you do things over and over again without just trying to repeat things change on their own. Like how you do it, But then even what it means to do it. Like how silly, lighthearted, it once seemed. But then not really. Sometimes you see beyond what others see. Sometimes you say, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes no one understands. But a thing can be more than one […]

This one. Because it was in the pile of I Don’t Know. Created while I was considering Home. A lot. Pinned to the wall for so long, I got tired of looking. Waiting for direction. First. Everything Is Connected. Then. Holding on to Nothing. Finally, calling it New Eyes. Yesterday I stitched all those little stitches on either side that frame the intersection circles. I didn’t sleep so I spent some time last night considering continuing the border stitching in […]

That’s what motivates me. Just to see. Simple enough. I could hear it. A walk down the hill, just to see how much water has passed through the boundary wall to fuel the ever growing tiny river here. The water that springs up right out of the ground. Probably some digging would encourage more flow, but I would rather just watch this amazing process. Another thin embroidery sample, using a hoop instead of stitching on multiple layers as I do. […]
