Growing Pains

January 12, 2023 by jude

I think I need a drone… I will take a photo outside when I get a chance, right now, a small ice storm. The Grow cloth,  becoming bigger.  I decided to do that first.   With what is on hand here.  It is good to be using some of the larger pieces of cloth here.  Using them.  I am using what I call seamless piecing here.  I will probably talk more about that later.   Anyway,  about 12″ bigger all around should […]

On the Big Round Table

January 11, 2023 by jude

ok. Grow…   This one was on the small round table  we moved outside to the porch.  I brought it in and hung it on the wall too look.  In October. The red circle was drawn using the edge of that table as a guide.  The man made that table.  And the cloth stayed and  became a table cloth while I worked on it.   We sat.  talked.  Ate.  Looked into the forest.  Soul-O had his own chair, slept there under […]

Connecting loose moments in time

January 3, 2023 by jude

Away we go for a bit. Some visiting, because it is not snowing and warm. OK. A little Nine.  One inch squares.  Nine as Time passes. Maybe yesterday, today and tomorrow.  Maybe a blink of an eye.  Here today, gone, well no, maybe transformed tomorrow.  Today’s dot is  a reminder of fullness. Car travel, dots are small and easy, I can continue.  Needle , thread, a few loose scraps.  Maybe a pencil and a scrap of paper.  Small cloth.  Thought […]

Rainy Rainy Tuesday

October 4, 2022 by jude

I actually wrote rainy rainy Monday first off.  I have some fairly funny stories about forgetfulness.  I should share them before they seem less funny. I quilted this much yesterday on Alphabet Soup.  The remnants of hurricane Ian have reached the Northeast.  Looks like 3 days of rain. Like real rain.  I never liked rain so much.  Woke to the sound of it.  More quilting today for sure. And there was a new Moon Cabin yesterday because it has been […]

quietly here

September 3, 2022 by jude

Patching together some new peace, maybe, which is indeed a very thin cloth. Hoping for some rain. I will be back to regular posting later this week. Hope you are all just fine.

the simplest centering

June 4, 2022 by jude

When a pattern emerges, it is easy going. I am patching first and adding the circles as I go.   Not measuring, just the best I can.  How it looks right to me.  I suddenly thought about centering, how that is really about balance.  Balance is often a feeling, a sense, not a measurement.  I wonder, if it seems balanced to me, will it feel balanced to you, and if so, would it be for another reason? I see cat hair.  […]

My pace has slowed

June 3, 2022 by jude

Pace slows.  Everybody knows. Probably I have listened to too much Leonard Cohen. As slow as I go, though, a pattern always emerges. Pattern might be considered a kind of reach.  Or then,  maybe the opposite. Does repetition  strengthen, or dilute?
