Sometimes

April 4, 2022 by jude

Story I have been thinking a lot about story.  And probably I will be talking about it more. A while back I created a story cloth that I called  In The Same Boat.  It is no longer with me here.   Yesterday, suddenly another story began. Not In The Same Boat. I guess depending on your perspective, both stories could be true at the same time. Alone. We all can feel it. Even when we are not alone. Just like together. […]

Almost April

March 30, 2022 by jude

Still below freezing,  it’s been a couple of days now.  Feeling tired and under whatever weather there is has kept me from doing too much.   I tacked this old cloth over a Nest of Days, just to look. And I know it will stay like that for longer than I imagine because these days everything has become “uncurated” if you know what I mean. In looking back through blog posts related to this cloth I got caught in how productive […]

Happy Spring

March 23, 2022 by jude

The weather has warmed, though not  in any steady way, it is a relief to see  a little green.  Seems  a colder week is on the way.  This back and forth, we know it.  It has been a busy few days, and I have been  plagued with some sort of allergic reaction to a spider bite.  And have just been under the weather in general.  Still going, just a little more slowly. Taxes are done, how I dislike […]

how one thing becomes another

March 19, 2022 by jude

I stitched a bit this morning, did a video that didn’t work out, and now , really, I need a few days to do my taxes. I like how the little nine, (my safety net)   was transferred to the different elements in this story.  How the alignment isn’t a straight line and how that leads the eye anyway.  And the top one looks as if it is evolving into an eye.

A renewed sense of Path

March 16, 2022 by jude

Finally.  The real edge of spring seems real. We have  a path now.   Through our  woods.  To the trails over the ridge.  Our neighbors use it too.  It is working out ok. So far. Once the trees fill out, we probably will not see them or hear them walking through. The ATV though, we will have to talk. We need a limit on that, which is fair enough.   And going has returned to a feeling of normal I guess.  […]

Just a little change

March 10, 2022 by jude

Yesterday was pretty much black and white. And then blue. It snowed all day, but in the end, just a little. Today, after a little sun, it will be gone.  But I caught it in cloth. Sometimes, when I feel like I’m going nowhere, I focus on smaller steps. Shrink myself down and they seem like a long journey. (zoners, click the moon thingy to enter the zone)

what a day

March 6, 2022 by jude

This is what we did today. All day. 62 degrees!  Feeling the warmth.  Doing nothing but that. Not even one stitch.  Just the day was enough.  It was enough. And then, just to feel useful… I just pinned a few loose patches to large piece of muslin I have on the wall, it’s a loose patch catcher at the moment as I am sorting through, gathering a few that have stories to tell.

Hello not spring…

February 13, 2022 by jude

February’s Mood So Really.  Here we are again. They predicted a flurry but NOT.  I stitched this stray self base last night but this morning, the face (need to talk more about faces) and the snow moon. It’s ok, I need a couple of days to rearrange the furniture a bit, set up a place to do some video.   The stray cat thing, I wonder why I use cats so much, maybe I know them after so many years.  I […]
