Yesterday

April 3, 2022 by jude

Yesterday. There was only laundry. Spring cleaning.  Everything is so dusty, musty and crusty. Laundry is cloth,  maybe that is why I love it.  I also love  laundry shadows.  I always stay looking.  How they float.  Like ghostly exits to other worlds. These pieces seem to fit right in.  Blend. While  I feel rather in between.  Between a now named stress and an unformed path.

no direction

March 4, 2022 by jude

Today I don’t know which way to turn so I decided to take a deep breath. Many of them. A thin cloth breathes, maybe that is part of its beauty.  And. Through is a way. While breathing  I noticed the rust marks. This patched fragment has been tacked to the wall, so many times,  for long periods of time.  Long enough for the tacks to rust.  Simply because it was humid. I like the way it points the way.  And […]

Seeing Through

May 31, 2021 by jude

The silk caused me to consider becoming lighter. Without disappearing. And then ask, “Where is the edge of me?” Note:  Regarding yesterday’s post. There is no list because there is no book. Yet. You know how slow I can go.  I would probably forget where I put the list anyway.

what’s on hand

May 14, 2021 by jude

I ended up with more of a smolder than a fire. Because of what was on hand. Continuing to build, considering Shelter.  This sheer silk gauze was dyed by Glennis (resource page), years ago, and today it grew into something quite beautiful.  I tacked the edges with tiny stitches that do not go through.  It has no weight, but the cloth is way stronger.  Since I have not completed the stitches that hold the layers together, the quilting, I will […]

patching it together

April 2, 2021 by jude

I cannot believe I did not see this before.  The face. Sitting right there at the highest point on the property.  The surveyor.  I will name it that for now. Or no, Keeper of the Higher Ground. I am using this small project, from here, to test a few options for video and audio before I begin again here. In this one, the video was recorded and the audio track was added over it.  Just testing the option.

Revisiting the Old Nest

April 1, 2021 by jude

There is fog here. After a lot of rain. And now a bit of winter moving in. It is grey and dark.  And the man is still sleeping. It looks dull but you can feel the season vibrating beneath the surface. I am sorting through this old basket of scrap. It’s big, this basket, and stuff gets tossed in when I need to tidy up.  It is a cloth/thread nest.  Bugs get in and so does dampness and dust. It’s […]
