Today I don’t know which way to turn so I decided to take a deep breath. Many of them. A thin cloth breathes, maybe that is part of its beauty. And. Through is a way. While breathing I noticed the rust marks. This patched fragment has been tacked to the wall, so many times, for long periods of time. Long enough for the tacks to rust. Simply because it was humid. I like the way it points the way. And […]

As we get older, it is easier to see things. In context. After a lot of the story has played out. I can say, over the years I have been blogging, let’s see, 16 years, (17 if you include the blog I actually deleted) feels more like forever, I can say there is a long enough time for me to see how things change. Around me. How (and why) my style of blogging process took hold. How the ragged, the […]

Time flies faster than ever as we age. I keep looking. It is hard to believe that this coming spring will be our 3rd spring here. And yesterday I said see you on the other side. I took this pic because I was just taking photos of what is still here. I let a lot of older work go this year. It always feels good to know that it is appreciated, but then hard to say goodbye. I think because […]

I piled one thing upon an other so he could look out the window, while I am sitting here, as the sun rises, working on the computer. In preparation for a new season I am immersed in a lot of looking. Trying to see all the cloth work everything here as just beginnings, seeds. So I might continue unfettered. Grow, ? If you have already purchased/have access to my private teaching ( the Forever Zone) would you use the contact form […]

On the window sill, again the joy of the resilient scallion. I do this once a year now, store bought, leftover ends that use to just go in the compost, snip and grow, snip and grow, plant them outside once it gets warm. Snip snip snip and grow all season… ’till it snows again. So much time sitting in front of a screen these last weeks. Not really wanting it to be that way as the season turns toward spring. […]

Just a video test today. It’s been a while. And if I don’t keep on it, I forget everything. And things are always changing. It’s good to have one place now. I am spread too thin. I think as, March begins, I will be a bit more focused here, it’s been a weird time.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, by Betty Smith. book The storm? Not. It’s not a storm without wind, for me. Although it promised a dump of snow. Close to a foot, we got a mix of sleet and rain with a bit of snow topping, Maybe 3″. Basically solid ice as dawn broke. The kind of thing that is sort of pretty but there will be no walking, shoveling or anything else. Couldn’t fill the feeders so just tossed the […]

There is a sneaky kind of chaos that breeds in worry. The kind of clutter that comes with holding on to too many Yesterdays. And Tomorrows. I was thinking it might become a kind of hoarding. Yesterday’s black walnuts do not worry, they let go and move on. On the porch this morning, I guess frozen for a good while, gloriously brewing in their own demise. And out there somewhere, continuing. I just pick them up off the ground in […]
