Slow and Still, but going

So, in my current brain fog, I failed to notice how off the color was that last time I posted a picture.  This is much more true to  color, the walnut and Pomegranate  dipped cloth was quite warm in tone.  I've yet to find a source for black walnuts around here but I am suer they can be found.  I still have the dye po(e)t with old fermented walnuts.  It'll do for now.

I ironed it to get the folds out.  And I did some glue stitching because it was not attached to the muslin layer behind.  It has more substance now. I added a few stitches and lines. The piece is about 16" x 17".

It feels good to be working on something  more conceptual, less illustrative.  I feel changed in that regard.  Old loose yet deeply anchored thoughts are returning.

To the Zone

It's warmer. 80s.

We're taking it easy.

I have put a link to the Forever Zone posts for 2026 in the sidebar, click the arrow next to Forever Zone  and it lists them by year.

You and Soul-o have the right idea, and it shows in your art.✨
You can also dye with acorns… it’s not the deep rich brown of black walnuts, but it can make a warm brown…

  2. Hey! I can send you some Black Walnut (fruit?) from Crab Meadow if you run out. You know they are all over the freaking place here. I didn’t even know what the heck they were till Dee pointed it out to me. duh. A box might be a nice little token from the old neighborhood.
But I think it is a bit early for them, no?

And I’m glad you are moving forward. This last round of what they are not calling Covid but feels a lot like Covid takes a long time to recover from. We were both wrecked from it with recurring sinus issues and lingering cough. But this too shall pass. Just like in 2020, it just takes time. And hopefully it leaves behind some antibodies for round 2.

    Stay strong.

Stay anchored and try to enjoy the warmer weather. (At least its not always 30 degrees up there!)
