After a storm

Yesterday

I guess we got a little over 12".  At last measure. It suddenly stopped snowing in the early afternoon.

The temperature rose steadily during the day and there was a bit of melting and evaporation. Plowing happened toward evening and we were able to move freely.

Most snow we have had since we moved here.

I managed to get to the mailbox and was pleasantly surprised by an early birthday gift from Pam.  Thank you so much!

I sat with the beast most of the day.

Snow Moon Keeper

And I fed the birds 3 times.

Today

After the storm

The sun is out but it is very windy and cold. There is more snow coming...

I struggled a bit but it was worth it.

I like how this is going and I wish there was not such a gap between yesterday and today for you here, because so many new challenges arose and I would have liked to talk about those real time.

Gee.

It's been a long time since I captured the sunlight through a cat's ear.

Tomorrow

I am putting together a little Newsletter that will be emailed to those of you who were part of the original Forever Zone.  Just to get in touch.  I will send it tomorrow morning.   Since some of you who were granted late access might not be on my mailing list, I will also post access to this correspondence on the blog tomorrow, in my next post.

And I will have more to say about what I imagine might happen with all of this going forward.

ha! again and again.

  1. The snow is beautiful-the contrast between the porch and the outside… inviting.
Rain here has challenged this old house’s roof and electrical so working on these things between moons.
I enjoy the return of the beast!

these old houses, challenges are ongoing. This one is just made cheaply so it is very annoying. Ha!
The beast has remerged as very very important.

  2. Oh my!!! All of a sudden I can now comment on your posts (at least this one so far) in the Jetpack ap.
Lately I’ve been replying to all your posts but just in my head! The winter snow pics were calming… catch up soon. Xo

  3. those buttery splashes of sun in the first picture made me smile … and as ever, I remembered the hush of newfallen snow and the scent of crystalline air … not to mention the scrapes and thuds of snowshoveling

how carefully your cloth creature carries the singing moon … giving it voice

Further east here in Cape Breton we are full on Valentine’s Day snow storm. Blowing and drifting, so no one moving too far. Spent the day crocheting wildlife rescue nests and watching 4 brave snowbirds munching on the seeds I spread on the ❄. I could see ice on their little beaks and then watched them jump on a branch and use it to scrape the ice off. They are the toughest little birds.

  4. Love your beast with moon in the mouth. We got a dusting for a change, for once, I’m sort of glad. I still get emails from school and they had virtual classes yesterday as the middle of the state got more snow. I’d have told my students to go play in the snow… maybe make a snow sculpture and have fun.

    You’re very welcome Jude! 💙
All that snow is so beautiful ❄️❄️❄️
I can still remember the snow days in Indiana ☃️

weird that the schools were closed but classes are now held virtually. The good old days of snow days have gone!
