November 1, 2023 by jude

Probably I wouldn’t know what day it was if I didn’t check, and well, today is enough.

just

September 20, 2022 by jude

Imagine if it was possible to actually use every last scrap here, how big a cloth would it be? How tiny my scraps of self are becoming. Enough for lunch, everyday for a while now. One way or another, I will attempt to use  most of what is here in terms of piles of cloth.  It amazes me that I mostly did not buy any of it.   It is amazing how things can be given new life.  Sometimes by just […]

Cooler

September 14, 2022 by jude

I can say we got enough rain. It is cool and damp  and these are new to me.  New is good at the moment, I have slipped into a strange kind of boredom. It took months but the porch ceiling is finally painted,  we don’t care about fancy or neat, could have left the plywood bare,  but this makes it lighter, softly.  It was hard work at our age, gosh I can feel it.  Tape comes off later today. I […]

August 3, 2021 by jude

Yesterday, on Instagram, I posted a little video, because it was easy just to capture a few moments.  And I said: If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is to leave your edges open, because form evolves. And fringe is my symbol for continuing. I know I have said that before, but in the context of layers,  the natural build up of layers in collage type work is a covering up process, but I love interrupting […]

The Spirit of OK

July 18, 2021 by jude

Just  Nine 3″ squares. Because I spent most of rainy yesterday replenishing my basket of puzzle pieces.  I do this mostly when I feel puzzled. No plan really. Just the potential for a solution.   Maybe just a nine patch. And then, I pressed them to a big cloth,  Heal,  just to look at them.  You know how cloth sticks to cloth sometimes, like a felt board.  I liked them there and now they are pinned.   Because they started to fall […]
