A tight squeeze but we are sharing the chair. And the hair.
Some tree trimming and there is more light on the kitchen side.
The grass is as high as a young deer's eye, almost...
We made a new path to the cabin.
A patch of realization found in the thread nest, I was going to flip the photo but it seemed about right this way.
I did some painting. A redraw from long ago. Season is still my teacher. The border is a bit crooked, not perfectly straight. I stopped using tape for that. There is plastic in tape.
Hope you had a nice weekend. I heard not one firecracker. Ahhhhhh.

My Great Aunts would wrap their presents in paper and string, no tape.
They were born in 1902, and 1904.
Yes, mine too.
Jealous you heard none of the July 4th noise but happy for you. 💚
Peace
So many fireworks here, legal and illegal, that the cats stopped hiding.
How wonderful to live where you don’t need curtains.
Nothing but forest and the occasional squirrel or deer peeking in
Jude~ Love that face! Or “such a punim!” as we say. It is so full of expression 🙂 (unlike this one! haha)
I love how tall and skinny that fruit tree is…as tall as the evergreens!
Ha… maybe I can create an emoji.
My secret garden can be anything.
I love the rough edges in your painting. More like reality than straight lines!
I’m feeling freer…
I continue to marvel at the beauty of your new home. I really can’t imagine a more perfect place for you and Solo to land after your most recent Journey. Except for the brutal frigidity of the winter there it seems ideal. I like to think of you living there among the ferns, trees and wildlife. I hope you find lots of peace there as you continue to settle in. ❤️
I’m seasoned now, I’m ready for winter…😀
Checking in from the war zone known as Long Beach California. Untenable.
How?$$$$ Why? A young girl died from getting hit by one in her own yard.
I admire your peace.
That fern lined path ❤️.
New light ❤️.
I had to laugh ❤️ at your thread nest. I recently saw someone lamenting how she wanted to get control of her embroidery floss. They were all individually wrapped onto floss cards in a big bin. Others posted all their own favorite ways to store them in very organized ways(lots of plastic).
I thought of you, and preferred your way.
Why is taking over my mind.
I had to run to the forest to calm down.
I like the nest, it’s restful. I search for a color and often stray to another I had not considered…
I too love the trees… and always have your beautiful landscape on my mind… a very special treat to imagine the out of doors and hiking around the area..
It’s very special here, just needs some tender loving care…
I love ferns… and a path through them. Is it shorter that way?
Yes, the other path is a longer road so vehicles can get up there . This up the hill from the house.
this delightful montage of photos makes my heart sing! have u ever considered stained glass or see-thru cloth fragments attached to an old window frame? or a mobile of stitched cloth with glass beads? the light pourin’ thru’ your cottage window is glorious …
I made some translucent patchwork curtains long ago, I’ll look for the photo
yay for no stupid firecrackers. and new paths.
Really…❤️
Love the painting of beautiful trees 🌲🌲🌲
And you are lucky to not have my neighbors…. days before and days after I have to hear the blasted fireworks. Even with earplugs I can still hear it 😤
Need more quiet stitching days 🤞🏼
💙✌🏼
working with an old image, maybe a few different ways, it is interesting how older work can become a base layer for new thoughts.
Back where I came from the fireworks were awful. My next door neighbor didn’t limit himself to holidays. Set them off randomly all the time, night and day.
The path , the patch and the painting…all wonderful. Fireworks in my neighborhood are rough on my dogs.
Yes, I always feel like hiding under the bed with my cat.
We had some boombooms. Poor little Pepper hid under a corner chair in our bedroom. All is quiet on the home front now.
Oh, your Moon and stars are storybook! And you have the coolest kitchen I’ve ever seen…
Yeah Soul-o is always terrified.
It’s a funny kitchen, working with it.
Not too bad here, no fireworks allowed in the city limits. A little crooked is just fine, more interesting. 🙂
ah, lucky you.
Off balance is more like me, ha!
Oh to hear ( not hear!) even one firecracker!!
( 4 nights of this ridiculousness 🙄)
Glad to leave that behind. Farms here. Farm animals are not fans of fireworks. Not one. I’m amazed.
Same here. 😢
Very expressive face. Small steps with your home is still progress in the right direction.
Enjoying each moment…
I only heard one firecracker. I think fireworks without any sound would be wondrous. Everyone just sitting quietly and really looking. It’ll never happen of course, but nice to envision.
Ha, yes!
