little by little

from the porch

winter trees

As I just said to a good friend, checking in on me,Β  I've simply become intoxicated by the silence. It snowed again last night.

warmed

It's cold but there is a warm and quiet sense of center here.Β  I am letting it fill me.

I did find my laptop,Β  that's something, still missing the power cord for my desktop, and my printer.Β  Slowly getting through stuff.Β  But it's ok. Like I said, I am just being here. In between chores and settling in.

I'll get back to thread and such, I will start by darningΒ  the moth holes in my sweater. Thank you for all your kind comments on my last post,Β  I'll be back to answering soon.Β  Just so little time spent on the web right now. Honestly, on purpose.

I can almost feel the calm in your words…home at last, after a time of stress and wondering… I know the peace of a snowy woods, and am feeling a little envy of your cozy hearth and crackling fire. Tlme is now yours.

There’s a lot to be said for silence. As I read your post, I noticed all the suburban sounds I can hear right now from inside my house. Enjoy the silence of the snowy forest. It is magical!

Your new home looks wonderful and I love the wood floor! Do you think you will do anything with the little cottage?
    Congrats on finally getting there!

I am so thankful that you are back here in this familiar space. Feels a bit like home and always yeah for quite.
And you look out onto a little red house!! How perfect!

  6. Hello, Jude. Everyone is waiting. Arranged. Around your fireplace. Like in an Amphitheater. And the comments are just applause. Despite the cold. They are not kindness, they are not empathy. You know how to do it. To give life to something – seemingly insignificant. πŸ€

It’s lovely to see you and Soul-O making yourselves comfortable, beginning to settle in and find your way to be home (and to find all your stuff). Wishing you both a cozy, peaceful winter there.

Congratulations on your new abode jude. The fireplace has symbolism already, and we have only seen from the foots point of view, ha. I like that half moon brickwork and the octagonal type of floor boards happening there. I believe you mentioned a round house. What joy that must bring. Wishing you a contented time of finding stuff.

There’s nothing like the silence of snow…
I’ve always loved the thought of a round house. I hope you
feel settled soon, but not rushed. A new beginning, fresh…
    Soul-o is settling well.

Jude, the silence can be intoxicating. Your new home looks so cosy. Take your time to settle and embrace the new environment.
The snow looks magical. We just had 42 degrees C yesterday so the snow looks inviting.
Wishing you and Soul-O all the best.

I so miss the quiet that comes while it snows. and the silence in forests or areas with lots of trees. lets us have a time to think and contemplate.

These days silence is hard to come by and surprisingly many seem to be uncomfortable with it. It’s very restorative though and oh so needed in the noisy world we live in. Enjoy………..

  14. Day by day, step by step… you have a wonderful pal there with you and the fire is lit – take time and dream about what is coming your way…
Enjoy the wonder of quiet and yes, take time – all is well!

    “intoxicated by the silence”
    “quiet sense of center”
( How could it be anything less in your round house in the wood?!)

From Queensland Australia where it’s high summer. It looks a bit chilly, but Solo is happy and you’ve found the laptop. The fire is burning and you have work planned. Hello to the next chapter. But first, time to get over the shock. πŸ™‚

Soul-O has found his winter place and you are finding yours. Enjoy the peaceful silence. What are the trees? I don’t see any evergreens.
