How Winter Keeps Going

Winter Blues

Just when I settle into the deepness of winter, spring is sure to show up without notice. Because it is all one thingChange. I have stopped checking the weather report, just to witness change in a more present way.  Maybe sharpen my senses.  I remember Dad going out each morning, wetting his finger and checking the direction and nature of the wind. The temperature.  Being satisfied with that. The confidence that comes with experience.

Love Yourself Cabin

Season.

Season can be out there, or in "here".

These cabins, they come in so handy. The frame.

How they hold and spin and are always just , in the end, a frame of mind always becoming.  Or at least that seems what they have come to be for me.

The log cabin block has such a rich history. So much about a reliable way of building. From what's at hand, even though it may not always seem like enough.  It always is.  I stitched this while loving myself and knowing I needed to recenter.  Rebuild a kind of inner confidence in my ability to do that.

Sun Moon Star Light in Winter

I thought this would be finished for the New Moon.  But no.  This one is still straying. There are many things, most of which I will not share here.  But I will say that I still have plans to continue in the Forever Zone, but WordPress has a comment bug on private pages that they have promised to fix so I am waiting.

That being said, I have already moved some stuff here. Protected it for various reasons. I should be able to complete the transition in the next month. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Maybe each season should be a season of DEEP LISTENING. I wonder how that would change all of us. Listening to each other–listening to nature??? Thinking a lot about that lately.

Your woods look just like my woods here in Mi. Our weather has been a roller coaster ride, and I’m starting to watch for signs of spring. Pussy willows are usually the first thing. Love, love this heart log cabin. Inspiring!

Me too, crawling around in the brush, I hope to find the signs, I know they are there…stuff keeps going. Let’s follow their lead.

You’ve been in my thoughts as you’ve taken this time away for yourself (which is to be celebrated), and left me quite bereft by your absence. Whilst I never comment, your posts and art are woven essentially through my own creative days, and I wish dearly for that to continue. Will it be possible for us new people to join the Forever Zone too? Thank you for your generosity in making your skills, techniques, and countenance available, your valuable voice and hands are deeply appreciated.

Hey thanks for taking the time to comment, yes, access to the Zone will be available in the shop soon. Just fiddling a bit… and making sure all will be working…

  4. That beast with the crescent moon in the mouth contains a lot of stories. I like the Sunshine has been nice this week, and a bit warmer, but tonight it’s going down to almost single digits. It helps me to look at the weather report so I know how much to stoke the wood stove overnight! Nothing worse than a very cold morning when I didn’t get the wood load right!

Thanks so much for coming back, Jude! I was getting worried. Your trees remind me of a winter day long ago when I looked out the window at a snowy landscape and realized that all of nature’s colors were gone. No wonder the darkness of Winter has such an impact on us! I love the log cabin with heart, and the creature who is still evolving! Hang in there, and thanks again for all that you share!

Good morning, happy to see you here! I’m new here so I wasn’t sure if you were wearing a beast suit or if the beast was carrying the moon in its mouth. Perhaps it’s all of those things.

There is something (some things) about this time of year that seems to require re- centering. Everything in these pictures is gorgeous.
