S is for Seam. A line along which two (or more) pieces of fabric are sewn together. There will be more to say about that soon enough.
But really a seam is a join. And I love to honor that.
2/16/23 A seam is a line. And a line divides space. But a seam line also connects space.
Time to reconsider seam.
There are 3 kinds of seams usually presented. Plain, abutted and lapped. ( French Seams too but that to me is a refinement) And then, I have considered some other techniques but I am not there yet.
