When You Can’t Sleep

Sleep has become a real problem.  I think of Michelle.

Instead of stressing, now I just get up.

In this case I just kept stitching.  Only with the idea of using this woman alignment in a different way.   Stands with Trees was the thought that emerged, because I have been wanting to use the wrong side of that brown print for a tree for a while and then while sorting I found this beautiful Moon dyed by Glennis so long ago.

A new sense of place and season emerged.

This morning I am thinking...Time To Grow New Eyes.

Cats, on the other hand... never seem to have this sleep problem. Anytime, anywhere.

Maybe there is still time to learn this.

I love your little pieces and Soul-O too. I had several years of serious insomnia in my 70s. Audio books cured me; I now go to sleep with someone reading to me. Mens voices work better than women for some reason. Maybe I’m more used to tuning them out.

Love this hearted tree woman❤️ someone told me once they thought the reason sleep patterns change as we age is to give us more time to accomplish whatever is important to us as end of life draws closer. Not meant in a depressing way…

Jude~ Oh, I love her!! First of all, the colors in their deepness say to me remember the (my) original days with Spirit Cloth – the old banner that is now so faded, but there…still there. I too love hearing the meanings of the symbols, as I’ve been adding new ones to my leather stitching. I agree with the size of the moon feeling just right here and that green snowflake…what a great symbol!
As for sleep. Yeah. sigh. And our Michelle in NYC…such a night prowler was she. I think age, along with other changes and concerns plays a part. This was a great solution. After all, who says one must sleep at night? Why not in the day? (((hugs)))

  5. Oh my… Stands with Trees, really love this. A nutritionist I used to work with advised me to take magnesium to help with sleep. I had bad insomnia last week starting right before the time change. With the time change on top of that, I got really exhausted and my sleep was terrible. Starting to get back to something better. And, sweet Soul-o. 🧡

I love hearing your story behind the creating process of your pieces. I don’t feel like I have any deep meaning in what I make… just keep going!

  7. A beautiful piece. The large crescent moon works so well. And all the symbols held aloft…I’ve been sleeping much better recently, I don’t know why. I wish the same for you.

So MUCH her(e). That tree knot above her right ear 🤎🤎🤎 That MOON 🌘
Sorry to hear about your sleep troubles, and we commiserate, relentless wind keeps us awake 🙁
Love to you and Soul-O 💚🌱

All the little puzzle pieces came floating in on the stream of Consciousness.
There is also some animal in the bedroom wall.😂

Oh gosh, they can be so noisy. I remember there was a rat in the attic of a house we lived in years ago, and it sounded like a herd of elephants up there!
I agree with the comments….you could never post too often for me, and yours gets top priority in my inbox.

This piece is beautiful and deep. Only you could have created it. Thank you for the inspiration you provide with each post.

I think this is my favorite piece of all you have done, Jude … and that’s saying a lot! That gorgeous CG rescue t Moon, and green snowflake!! Wow.
