Bullshit

are nine wishes enough?

So I spent days.  Understanding how to recover the Typepad files in a way that they might be useful.  I have a rough plan.  And still there was the question...will there be time?   They have been no help really, polite but no real help.

And then, in the middle of  moving and saving stuff...the site goes down.   It's all down for me.  Can't even get to stuff to move it.   Have no idea if this is true for everyone.  Really?

I have no time for this.

I don't want  this feeling. Nope.

I'll be here, just going for now, and that's it. Let's move on.

I love how the eyes on Grow always loo back at me. Maybe saying...Grow Up!

It's raining and we are inside, maybe I'll make bread.  A simpler technology.

It's September, I'm out in the forest , in my mind.

I think it’s probably overload from everyone trying to access the data. Now they are up and down. I’ll grab what I can, but the, I’m somewhat “over it”.

  1. I am so sorry for the recent troubles with technology. And grateful that I can still access the Forever Zone. but please, can you tell me where to find that lovely lesson on stitching for folks who aren’t fond of french knots? I thought I had saved that but cannot find. Aloha & blessings

Major frustration. I’m beginning to see technology disasters like this the same as any natural disasters like fires and floods. You just have to make a cup of tea, pet the cat, mourn the loss, and move on.

one of the most freeing revelations for me as i grow older is that “shit happens”… it’s an “organic” part of life. ha! but u still live in one of the coolest houses on the planet, with an equally cool cat ‘n ragmates who adore u… so yeah, time to bake some bread ‘n celebrate all the good stuff! hey ho! X

Making banana bread and eyeing a few fabrics in front of me, shields amid my own tech burdens. What is simple for some is torture and angst for so many others. We are tempted by shiny apples, but are they nourishing us or killing us? In uneasy times, I agree with the person who is grateful we have these alternate skills to retreat to as needed. Jude, I hope that emptiness was somehow a temporary glitch. May we all live simply and somehow be soothed.

You will know what you need and want to do – maybe not today or tomorrow. Give it time. Mourn the loss if you need to (that helps me). I will be here as you share your life, your process and the continuing journey.

Oh the times we are going through! We are the lucky ones , Able to step back to the old ways to catch our breath. I’m so glad we have this connection still. Thank you Jude, for keeping us in touch, so we can keep going.

No matter how technology advances, the science of baking bread remains the same. What a comfort. Oh how I long for a rainy day though.

It’s cold, rainy, and gloomy here in Colorado Springs so I baked a batch of lemon poppyseed scones. Just the scent alone makes things better. I think I will read and embroider today, and later make some chicken and sausage gumbo with green chiles. Hope you can figure things out but even if you can’t, we will all be with you along the way.

  9. Yes, I can’t get in. I will check back, there was a bit more I wanted to save as screen shots. If this is it, well…then it is and I am glad I moved before it all crashed.

Hey Jude, however you can be here is enough. There’ll be another way or maybe not and in the meantime baking bread sounds like a good thing to do. Do you eat it with butter?

  11. When son bought me a NEW iMac- being a computer engineer he moved everything to the new machine…stuff I hadn’t seen in decades. it was like buried treasure….find a teenage nerd and see if they can move (find) stuff for you.

  12. Technology sucks! I am so tired of constant changes/updates, things being taken away that I like, other things that just don’t hack it. Guess that’s what happens when you live long enough, but seriously! So sorry they got you again… you put so much into trying to create a place where readers can learn and appreciate all you do! But as long as you have a way to post, I will continue to enjoy what you share with us!

Falling back on the blessed simple. Always a good move.

Wow. That set of stars is amazingly alive! They could go any which way. Love them.

Not just you Jude…although you may already know, Grace’s site is down too. I popped in this morning to see the progress on her little house and got an error message. This is a realization I am coming to with all things, but especially tech, there no permanency. As I work through a transition from inhouse tech mgmt at the NPO where I work, to an outside company managing it, I keep wondering/hoping that they will still be there in the years to come. But frankly, I’ve grown too tired to let the thought of how to safeguard it all be a focus. Just going here too.

    Enough is good 👍🏻
I’ve been stitching on the hexagon log cabin, and in my mind walking through the redwood forest. 💚🌲🌿
    You do more than enough!
    Rest

Crows have elephantine memory. What needs to come back will. What doesn’t, will not. Keep going, as you always do. Your presence is enough!

    How frustrating, Jude!
All the harried work, only to *poof*
I am beginning to suspect that all this “forever” techno stuff is just finite…
I find myself drifting back into the quiet rhythms of life “before”…needle and thread, old fashioned garden tools, baking from scratch ( I was on a roll yesterday, pumpkin bread AND oatmeal raisin cookies!) watching birds, sweeping the porch ….
    Just going…
    Deep breaths
    We are still here!!

  18. Nancy D

So sorry to hear this frustrating news, Jude!
Glad you’re here, at least. With the Full Corn Moon coming, and a Blood Moon to boot! let’s see how things pan out. Yesterday I went to my Spirit Tree in the Woods down by the Lake…and there, at my feet, was an arrowhead!
For me, it was the find of the century, for I’ve always sensed an Indian village there, long ago…
    🌝
