Slowing the process…

Good Morning,

Soul-O caught a mouse last night.

2AM.  He always brings them near to the bed to eat them.  My mattress is on the floor so I hear it and so I woke up, grabbed the mouse and threw it outside near the porch.  Was hard to go back to sleep.  It rained during the night.  I went out this morning, not sure why.  Maybe to apologize.  I buried it.  It's odd that I always feel so bad, yet I hug the cat and thank him too.  Life  is full of puzzles.

He always seems younger the day after.  He's a cat. Maybe there are more.

Bruno loves tractors. And cows. I love that he can grow up here.  The Fleming farm stretches from my son's house all the way to the far edge of my land.  Hundreds of acres.  Beautiful, the place and the people.

I feel my pace changing.

faint of heart

Maybe my approach to sharing will finally become as I imagined.  Just as it goes.  I hope to achieve that by continuing in the Forever Zone at this new pace, even though moving here made me consider not continuing at all.  I want step by step, moment by moment, no thoughts cast away or ignored.  Even if I thought it before. Wish me luck.

Just practicing with this one, how slow can I go and still not lose you...

By the way it is 57 degrees.

You have your family. Near and two beautiful grandchildren that take time to love and nurture. Lots and lots of wonderful!!

  2. Tractors are pretty amazing. 🙂 There are a couple of hot (for us) days in the forecast here but mostly comfortable…good gardening weather and I am off for the whole next week!

Those Guernsey cows are beautiful. A great place for your grandchildren to grow up, with you close by. My vet always told me that mice are a good supplement to my cat’s diet. (Just don’t bring them inside.) The cooler temperatures today were welcomed.

It’s beautiful here. There are sheep and alpacas on the farm on the other side of my land and rescued horses across the road.
Mice are plentiful here, his fave is chipmunks but he is not going outside yet .
      The cool is glorious.

hearing your voice is deeply comforting, jude… just this morning, i was struggling with whether to make a change in a piece i’ve been hooking for months. i finally decided there was no other way to know if my idea would work. it was quite freeing to pull out the unwanted part ‘n to begin again. more thoughts are caught ‘n one thing leads to another. hey ho! x

Jude~ yeah, draw where you like, in ink…why not?
I don’t think I realized how close to your son & family you are…only one neighbor between you. What a treasure. There is something weepy-sweet about the pic of Bruno. Lucky boy, lucky family. 💕 Lovin’ slow , let’s barely go…

Something about this whole post makes my heart flutter.
How wonderful that tractor-loving Bruno has all that space for growing!

We also had the same gift next to the bed this morning. It must be hunting season.
Go as slow as you want; I’m pretty slow too.

The tenderness of the heart motif seems to fit so well with the soft, worn cloth. Looking forward to seeing the piece as it unfolds …

Time out of doors feels more life-sustaining than ever … the kiss of a breeze, grass under bare feet, and listening to bird song. The best foundation for a child.

I have no idea how it will go except that i want to keep going, lightly.
Yes, really glad there is so much space and fresh air, nature.

The landscape in the Bruno picture could be somewhere here in England, the old Massey Ferguson just magnifies that.
Soul – o and his mousing is bound to make him younger. They go all ‘wild’ for a bit afterwards don’t they….you see it in their eyes!

    Slow is good 👍🏻
No matter how pampered and well fed cats always have to show you they are capable hunters! 🐈🐈‍⬛

Slow is good. I am going slow these days myself. Slow cloth. This is how weaving is and how I am weaving my life.

57 here, too. And rain. (But no mice. I check the live traps daily…)

    • jude

There are so many here in the woods. I have some live traps too.
I like weaving for its slowness. I will be back at it soon enough

Our temps scarcely vary for days on end. Dog Days, indeed …
Perhaps using a permanent marker is commitment. That’s good. And things can still change. It should be called a Commitment Marker!

my ian used to go to bed not with all the soft stuffed things i’d provided, but the metallic, bright, big wheeled tractors and things that seemed so not-sleep inducing to me. bruno is growing up in a good place for sure.

      Ha!
Yes, and this farm has been a family thing for generations, these people tell wonderfully strong and inspiring stories. They are great neighbors. Hardworking and kind hearted.

    Good Moring Jude…
Immediately .. as I looked at the latest stitching and listening to the
vocal .. I suddenly saw a person or beast of sort.. arms extended
holding dearly to the hearts ..the one as a head full of heart and one between the legs as if encouraging the entire being. Funny how each of us see differing visions.
Thank you for speaking about drawing onto fabric .. I have come to feel conforted by freedom from forced patterns… in only the last few years I have realized I can draw a bit. Great to learn so late in life!
Many many thanks for opening old eyes!

    • jude

I like that you shared that vision.
I like know how many stories can be generated from image.
And now you have added more to how one thing might become another.

57 degrees! Cooler here today, too, but nothing like that! I’m happy for you. And you could slow to a near standstill and not lose me. Thanks for everything you post, Jude.
