OK. I can do this.
5AM. My bedroom floor is layered with carpets, a habit I acquired after visiting Turkey years ago, And my mattress is on the floor now, the bedframe not assembled yet, since the move. Maybe I don't need it. Good exercise getting up and down. For Soul-o, the whole room is a bed.
I want to make carpets.
What I wake up to for now...Rabbit Rabbit... until I find a better spot for it...
I love Ginny's work.
Tulip petals left over from Mother's Day. Imagine rolling them up in some silk and steaming them for a bit. You never know.
Thank you for your patient companionship. I'll practice being here every day this week, even if I've nothing to say. Get into the spirit of just going again.

My first glimpse of the first picture was…Skunk!
Then I realized it was your beloved soul-o.
I thought you were taking a break, and then I logged on and realized I missed much. Your “pillow” cover was stunning. Someone was very fortunate to acquire it.
Ha! I should nickname him that.
Yeah, I’m inching my way back .
I want to weave colors.
Today I was playing your video on small patch theory and patch words. My husband said, “oh there she is, the woman I like to listen to”.
A calm quiet voice talking about color, making, and meaning.
We never know where our ripples go.
Happy Spring.
IMHO I’d opt for the bed. Save the deep knee bends for after coffee. But that’s just me. Love the idea of layering rugs.
The rabbit is in such a creative home. That makes me happy! May he bring luck and happiness.
Are you dealing with allergies too? Mine are going bonkers. I use the neilmed sinus rinse aka saline bullet aka nose douche. Tough to get used to water boarding yourself but really really helps. At lease now you can turn off the fire for a while and recouperate.
Gazzunteight !
The rooms are small and odd shaped here, so just a mattress works better anyway. My knees are good!
I love the Rabbit!
Yes, allergies have complicated the recovery. Rinsing helps.
It might be cold enough for a fire in a few days…🤔
Made me smile. 🙂 I need to get back to daily posting too and will keep you company. Thinking a lot about story right now.
There’s always story…🙃
ooooooooooH! a rug loom made by your boy? WHAT BLISS!!! can totally picture u ‘n soul-o ridin’ a magic carpet! ha! guess u already r! and those tulip petals steamed on silk?… sigh… i will read this post again ‘n again, cuz it makes me so HAPPY!!! love u, jude! x
A magic carpet would be something…
Yeahhh, you could fly together😃
Right? Eeeee.
I loved that about Turkey. I’m missing that part of the world right now because this was the time I used to head off there every year. My little house on the mountain overlooking the coast of Turkey at Ismir. It used to take me a few days of just sitting on the terrace looking at the sea and Turkish coast to calm my nervous system after 5 or 6 months in the US. My life is not as busy as it used to be, but there’s something so different about life here and life over there. I miss the slowness of the island.
Ismir is beautiful, the coast is so lovely, the water so blue!
Yes! And this time of year is spectacular over there…
I almost moved there, imagine that.
Sorry for not responding for sooo long, it’s a shame.
But you’re in my thoughts and ❤️
Don’t worry! 👋❤️
I’m always happy to see a post from you. Even if you have “nothing” to say (ha!), I always find it thought provoking in a good way.
Thought catching comes in many forms, I realize it has become a kind of medicine to me.
I like the photos you post with your comments.
Maybe I can get them to speak for themselves.
They do! All wonderful!
🌞
I am so glad to hear from you this morning. You have been in my thoughts all week; me knowing that you were resting perhaps more comfortably, and readying for your next step.
I feel like an inchworm…
remember every inch is an adventure! (words from long ago)
Indeed!!!
The mattress on the floor vs. on a bed frame sounds like a good idea. As we age it’s important to keep those joints moving. Save the bed frame for when yours get rusty (hoping that that time will be long in coming).
Maybe if I need kindling…😂
Hey, Jude,
😁even inch worms do their part and contribute to the grand universal scheme. There are days I feel I’m in retro grade, slow motion. As long as I have cloth, thread and a sharp needle the time on the clock makes little difference. Life’s pleasures with few interruption. Blessings for a restorative, healing weekend.
Namaste
I’ll be inching along ..
Hey, Jude! So glad you are feeling better, and you are here, and that it is Spring. Enjoying the beauty around us – nature, art – is very healing. I put together some little raised garden beds yesterday. These are near the house, for a kitchen garden. A little gift for myself!
I’m trying but the pollen isn’t helping my situation …
Hi Jude: Just a quick comment on allergies: If pollens bother you, you might try taking a tablespoon of local raw honey starting about a month before pollen season. I know it’s too late now, but since this is your first year there, who knows what other pollens might come wafting in through the summer and fall.
And the making rugs sounds like something right up your alley.
Hang in there.
Yes, I used to do that, good reminder!
My boy is making me a rug loom
Hello Jude: Here in Aussieland, pollens are the bane of my life for my severe asthma. Perhaps it would be better to have your bedframe ASAP, as carpets suck up dust and dust mites live & breed in carpets by the zillions. We have pine floors and parquetry which still needs vacuuming. I love carpets too and I have some rugs the size of prayer mats from Iran and Afghanistan, but they’re not in my bedroom – they live in hallways. I have to take an antihistamine tablet (very small so easy to swallow, and now they don’t make you sleepy at all) every day in spring and summer….as it’s changing into autumn, I can put them away. I loved that smiling sun, and when I first looked at the pic of Soul-O, all I could see was what looked like white feathers! but it was his white tummy! All the best to you and Himself, Soul-O.
I steamed them all the time, but you are right, they are just catchers. I think the fire going all the time in winter had a bad effect on my lungs, also the dry air. I will take more care I’ve learned a lot in the few months here.
Jude~ However, whenever you arrive here is all fine. Relaxing expectations for self and it feels good. Thanks for the link to Ginny’s work, I’ll have to look more – so much to see!
My own broken body would never do a low bed for long, nor ruffled rugs, for if I trip – more gets broken…but I can appreciate the dream of it and the quest (too purposeful a word in this sentence! haha) for ‘less’ and ‘simple’. I often look around and think: what don’t I need?
Last night I dreamed of a Kestrel type bird with a telescoping neck!! It worked beautifully for reaching higher up on the tree, where it sat!
Well, we all have out limitations, and so we arrange accordingly. I like yor dream!
Glad you are here in any form . Rabbit Rabbit is spectacular!!
Hey! I love the rabbit too!
Just knowing you are there 🙂 ….sometimes just being there without lots of words and explanations is all one needs. Thank you for your sharing of your life……
These days, talking seems easier, no edits, hope my voice returns soon
Hi Jude, It’s good to have you here however that goes for you. Carpets on the floor, so lovely, so is ditching the box spring. Though it’s feeling wintery out there today, it feels good to be outside, feeling the cool air and enjoying the soft morning light. I’m pensive after an ER visit last night. Go as needed Jude.
Hope all is well, keep on keeping on
🙏🏼🥰
👋
Good morning to you.
A litle less ist always good! And if daily does not work out, well thats good too. Whatever feels right without pressure.
Glad you are feeling a bit better
The daily gives me flow.
Good morning Jude 🌞☕️
I love the rabbit, and all your rugs! Seems like soul-o does too. 😁👍🏻
He likes to ruffle them up.
Hello, Jude. 🍀
👋
Even if you have nothing to say…your posts somehow convey things..which makes me want listen…carpets?..that’s a gorgeous thought…
Summer in full swing here with blazing red gol mohor flowers creating carpets of fiery red on the streets..
I’ve always wanted to weave carpets, a slower textile.
Good morning Jude…. here’s to keep going…
👍
Simple is good. Feeling the need to move more in that direction as I age. Beautiful petals.
Too much weighs heavy
Good morning! Always the best time of the day….
Yes!
Sleeping on the floor. Closer to the earth…🌀
Reminds me of my younger days.
Wonderful! I’m wanting to eco print some natural linen, but don’t want to use any metals to fix the color. All natural.
Metals are natural!
Good point! Perhaps I meant plant material…
Ha!
So glad you are feeling better and are able to let us know how your life is going. I’m sure you know well by now that we all care very much for you.
Yes, it is soothing to know in this crazy world.
Beautiful post!
Waking is good!
