Crossing Over

I (we) made it.

Here it's a no fire day.  And so we move out of keep the fire going season into tick season.

And fix the porch roof season has arrived.  So beautiful in its decay though... I'm thinking of using old windows to create a drier enclosed space.  Maybe a mudroom/ greenhouse/ porch/woodshed.

the beauty of decay

the Magic Cloth

I'll take this down now, it held up well, weathering the storms and keeping the rain off the firewood.  Faded a bit, but ready for some more story.   I will put up a clothes line.  Wash and air out the big cloths.  Introduce them to their new home.

old

This is one of my older illustrations.  It fits to the day somehow.

new

Slow but g(r)o(w) ing.

I have decided to the forget about schedule in the Threadcrumbs shop.  A lot of little stuff will just randomly be dropped in for now.   Mostly loose dyed or stitched patches.  Stitched story cloths will remain as part of the Jude Hill shop, with the moonProbably. I need to update a lot of my pages to reflect my new mood.   Maybe I just feel kinda loose.  That's good.  More straying, less saying.  I'm old, who cares?

Thank you for your onion and celery process. I, too, have not started seeds yet, but would like to do zinnias as the deer usually do not eat them. So glad you can sleep through the night. Great idea to use old glass panes to keep the area dry. Find someone that is replacing their old fashion storm windows.

  2. The world is crumbling and I just found out so is my back severe degenerative disk disease. So I’m taking a beat from
You and trying harder to be on the upbeat. I have curtailed my obsession with news. If you hear the world is ending let me know😂😂

Oh, gosh, i hope there is not too much pain. Keep moving, but slower. And definitely don’t watch the news. Our worlds can be smaller and kinder.

Adequate sleep is essential for feeling positive about anything I think. I have a whole head of garlic that sprouted and a big yellow onion. I’m going to plant all of that. Will get me garlic scapes and onion seeds at least.

New beginnings and happy surprises … some familiar, seasonal tasks for steadiness.

I love, love, love the idea of introducing all of your big cloths to this new land.

So lovely to see Spring springing in a new place… wondering and watching. Two good things to do on a daily basis. And still a few surprises for me every year even though I have been in one place for a few years now. A redbud tree decided to grow in a new spot a couple of years ago and it is already several feet tall – amazing! Thanks for sharing all your new wonders with us.

  6. It is uplifting to hear how positive you feel as the season changes. You’ve been through a lot and the world is still convulsing from the results of Nov 5, so it’s especially good to hear.

  7. Nice long look at the trees. Will be fun to see them leaf out.
I like the porch repair idea. Make sure that whatever you do has the least amount of maintenance required.
    That’s my mantra these days.
    No schedule-yay!

There’s a nice soft haze forming, buds.
Yes, I’m with you on that.
Considering a metal roof If I can afford it
      Yay indeed, enough pressure.

Jude~ What is that saying? Something to do, something to look forward to, something to reflect upon.
Well, maybe that’s not it, but it still works. Here’s to hoping the weather stays warm enough for a while.

  9. I like the way the trees hug the driveway.
I have a porch that is in desperate need of renovation, I’ve also been thinking about windows as walls.
Good to hear you’re feeling good and positive. ❤️

Yes, the road in seems like it might be a tree tunnel soon.
There are some nice old wood windows that were left in the shed.
I need the hope of positive.

Jude, your older illustration intrigues me. Do you remember what you were thinking when you made it? It reminds me of two creatures breaking through ice!

A screened porch would be nice to keep the deer flies off of you. Maybe some screen panels that can be replaced with windows for winter.

There is another screened porch ot back, which needs work also…
I think a few windows on this one should have screens, definitely…
