Everything is Changing

Almost February.

Imagine that. It has been almost a year since my life turned upside down.  It feels like a lifetime, but hey, it was a bit warmer yesterday and it felt like spring was coming.  I bathed in that thought.  I thought about thought and how amazing it is.  I asked myself too, what is real?

the fire inside

Expecting a few more inches of snow soon,  but I stacked a lot of wood inside yesterday.  I went to the market and I prepped for some indoor days.  But who knows? The weather reporting here seems not very useful, things change minute to minute in the mountains. I am learning.  I have mastered the long, slow, hot burn in a small stove.  It's warm in here.  I go out each day and shave off the new snow from the road in, clear the entrance after the plow comes by.   I keep it clear enough to get in and out just in case.  The public roads are never a problem, obviously a priority here.  And so this is my main work now.  Being here. I understand.  I stopped fighting it.

And then, suddenly,  the sun comes out...

here comes the sun

lightness

Yes, I am gathering my thoughts and just going.

shape shifting continues

A little talking in the Forever Zone today.

The blue and white scrap on the left reminds me of a dress my grandmother made for me over 65 years ago. She was close to the age I am now and I was a young teen. Thanks for the memory.

Your home is sooo unique. It just oozes cozy. I bet it blew the UPS drivers mind. To come upon a spot like that would be too cool.

Oh Jude, I love your home and everything about it. You are very brave to have managed everything over the last year. You, your home and surroundings (snow included), are an inspiration to me. Stay strong and I hope you will include some weaving one day. It’s a new year with lots of possibilities with plenty to look forward to. Warm hugs from downunder.

This home has been waiting for you! You fit as though you were its
creator. It speaks to each of us… as it welcomes your presence. I personally feel that this home is speaking to your soul.
Enlightens many of our spirits as you share through your wounderful pictures..
Dare I say “Peace” as in the 70’s.
    Thank you! Jude.

So cozy to see the lights from the outside on Jude, and the icicles, I’ve never seen those in person, so very cool. We never get that cold in our tiny mountain cabin in Crestline. Although it did rain and snow finally yesterday and hopefully put out the rest of the fires here in Southern Ca. Keep those pix coming and so glad to hear you finally feel settled in your new home. xoxoxoxo

Change is inevitable but can be so difficult. Joy becomes an act of resistance. Your home is beautiful; I can see it welcomes you with its roomy arms.

I love how your heart wanders from room to room in your log cabin.
    Beautiful home; great photos.
Our weather reports here out west have been remarkably unreliable this winter also. Back to the old fashioned look out the window method.

here comes the sun… YAY!!! interesting how things changing “minute to minute in the mountains” seems to parallel your exploration of shape shifting.

I’ve noticed that several of the pieces you have posted lately are lighter in color and energy – perhaps a darkness is lifting? Your wonderful round house is an inspiration – I love to see your photos of it.

What perfect timing… it is about time, taking time, making time, not talking oneself out of things that are important.
You talked me through a cold but sunny day while stitching. Thank you. Here is a poem

“In 150 Characters”, by Nikita Gill
Everything is on fire, but everyone I love is doing beautiful things
and trying to make life worth living,
and I know I don’t have to believe everything,
    but I believe in that.

My motto lately is to just paddle with the flow of the river. It isn’t that I have resigned myself, but that I am daily assessing the flow and movement and adjusting my day to that. Change is happening. But I will take it day by day.
