The year that IS

2025

looking through the holiday

On a whim, I added the numbers...

2+0+2+5=9

!

the liquid puzzle

oh c'mon...

I suppose I will stitch that nine today, while roasting chestnuts.

While considering the privilege of being in the position to do that.

And staying loose.

Happy Happy New Year 🎆. So glad that you’re doing things that you haven’t done in a long time. Seeing things in a new and wonderful perspective makes you smile. Wishing you a wonderful year in the days ahead. I’m praying this year is wonderful for everyone.

“certain things that I really like to do, I just hadn’t been doing.” Yes! Lightbulb moment! No explanation needed, no blame, just do the thing & see what happens. I like this so much. Blessings to you jude.

“A softer going”… I like the sound of that. There’s a mood of acceptance to that, but not a resigned one. Wishing you all the best for 2025 Jude.

Happy New Year to us all! ❤️🌲
    Jude…you sound wonderful…dare I say…relaxed and hopeful.
Interesting how some things come back into our lives when we make big changes. And this is a 9 year! So good! Onward we all go…together.

Hi Jude, I like loose. I like listening to your voice as you want it to be, looser. Listening today……there feels like a lilt in your voice. It feels comfortable, with confidence and pleasure. It feels good to hear.

Happy days and discoveries ahead, Jude.

Here we go indeed! It’s so good to hear your voice sounding joyful and strong. It feels good , as if you are finding liberty in flying soul-o. A good new year to you dear Jude.

Happy, loose, magical New Year! Picking up the threads of satisfying activities that have been on vacation somewhere for a while. That will help make for a jollier year! Thank you for the hello. And, like Nancy said, blessings to you and everyone on this thread!

  11. Your ninepatch equation is the best, most hopeful thing I’ve seen in a long time. Nine is a powerful, balanced number, with lots of personal meaning. I haven’t been feeling too sanguine about 2025, but now I feel better. Happy New Year!!

    • Your post (and discovery) plus the comments make me feeel much better moving into 2025. Not that there’s much of a choice and yes, believing is tough, but it too is our best option. Believing in the power of 9 s. Thanks.

    Will we see a difference?

    No waaay! HA! ☺️☺️☺️
I love that you’re finding yourself doing things you loved doing again. Happy New Year to you and Soul-O, and all the radiates, and ‘Hello ‘n’ here we go’ 🙂

Staying loose. That’s a good plan for all of us. Tight fitting plans can hogtie us in many ways. Life intervenes, plans go awry. Staying loose can make it easier to dodge obstacles or move over to another path should the situation change.

I saw a quote on a website the other day. I think it’s a good thought for the coming year. “Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering it will be happier”. Alfred Tennyson. Anticipating happier times often helps them appear for us. If we are looking for something good, positive, happy we often find it, whereas if we aren’t actively looking we miss it.

Lots of love to you dear Jill!
I look forward to see your new magical creations that will come alive in this new year. “Don’t preach. Understand the limits of believing.” Wow this is such a huge message for me in this time of my life. Thank you!!! May the happiest years be ahead for you and for all! ❤️

I feel blessed and I am grateful for so many things. Good to take a
moment and remember. I just finished stitching up a simple journal to jot down my gratitude each day.

I love that you added up the year and got 9!

Happy New Year Jude and Fellow Travelers!

Happy New Year … excited for you rediscovering the parts of yourself lost. I’m so happy that you’re closer to your family and that you’ll have more time to enjoy that new grand baby of yours.
      Sending you love and BLESSINGS!!!

  18. Happy New Year, Jude. That’s a fun thing, the equation in the 9 patch. 🙂
I’m heading out on this gloomy day to pick up the snow poles that have drooped as the ground melted, and to load up the house with wood. Stay warm in this coming arctic blast!

Hey Jude…glad to hear you are settling in and comfortable. I find during certain periods of finding more of myself that I start singing old songs that I remember all the words to…love it. The latest song that popped into my head was If ever I would leave you…from Camelot.
I have found two groups of fiber arts loving ladies that I meet in person and online. Learning a lot about stitching and loving life. And you are a part of that for me. Thank you for being you. HAPPY NEW YEAR. I LOVE THE ROUND HOUSE. Making a riund house in my head fir me to live in and have a studio that fits my needs.

I’m sending you new year’s greetings, Jude, and my very best wishes. May 2025 touch us all gently — this sad and hard old world could sure use more gentleness. And suddenly, I’m remembering that old Tom Paxton song: “Peace, peace will, peace will come, let it begin with me, let it begin with me.”

Oh, Jude, what a beautiful post. My Paperwhite Narcissus is now blooming fully. I sit and meditate with the plant (no, not “woowoo”), just a closer tune-in to those things that are natural and happening around me.
Paperwhite Blessings to you and everyone on this thread!
