OK

O will be for OK for now.
I think I will stop at O for now.

The alphabet thing has another purpose for me and I will simply begin again when I relocate.  And O is a circle and that can be for everything as it goes, for now.

let it form

I sat with this one last night. There is a point when floating leans into wishy washy and so I decided some grounding was needed.  The brown came out and I am moving  forward with that. And then, well,  no real explanation except, let's see. And then Oh! so many thoughts exploded, and then well, let's see. Maybe I should dip it in the walnut brew?

And that is that. No more deep pool of worry. Instead, I stitched up an earthy cabin to celebrate the coming of October.

October Moon Cabin

I will add a class called Small Journeys to the Forever Zone later today.

I moved the couch off the porch.  By myself!  It's a sleeper couch and there will be visitors.  I rearranged a few things so I could keep stitching out there.  I practically live in this space while it is warm enough.

Hello Beautiful!

Hollowed out, but beautiful.  Left it there, just beautiful.

Beautiful painting and beautiful photograph. Thank you for recording your amazing journey (life journey, creative journey) and for sharing this magical you with us. Even just your photos say so so much and are so so beautiful.

Oh, I love this October cabin, especially this one to celebrate my birthday the 22nd when I will be thankful for 80 years of good life. I don’t know what 80 is supposed to feel like. I just feel like my same ole self – feeling good and happy to be here, still creating little stories with my wonderful talking scraps and a few threads out of my nest. You have been such good company for me for many years and I wish you simple blessings in these days of decisions and changes.
    Just thank you. Valerie

I especially am drawn to the stitched circle with two open ends, made with multi colored thread around your October Moon Cabin. I think that kind of circle is my favorite to draw and to use because, even if I try to make it symmetrical, mine never are. I had never thought of the possible value of having the two ends open, but it offers a multitude of ways of going forward. That emptiness at each end offers space for something new, and permission to change one’s mind also. I like that each circle made this way is uniquely itself.

I think this grounding Earthy cabin is my new favourite 🤎
I had a beautiful molted spider for years. When we got rid of nearly all our stuff in July, it was liberated, along with most of the feathers and stones we’d collected.
    Porch living must be wonderful.

I’ll miss your wonderful photos of your home and the woods and your garden – and look forward to your pics of your new home, Jude. Very best of everything for your move. I haven’t heard of moulting spiders here in the Land of Oz so had better check them out, pronto!

Well I’ll be here for a while longer, just no alphabet, ha, maybe some sorting… and there will be woods and garden and even a pond where I am going. It’s the first time I saw one like this, amazingly intact.

Love your basket of threads and other essentials.
And I so wish we had fall this far south…alas, I am too firmly entrenched and decrepit to move. I will enjoy it vicariously, though – thanks! 🍁🍂🏵🙋

Oh!! That spider thing! I just learned that spiders molt like crabs do! How interesting you found that!
I Love that walnut dipped cloth! somehow Autumn is trying hard but summer heat is still lingering.

  8. That sounds like quite an accomplishment – moving the sofa by yourself. When I lived in Greece, I had a tiny house, just two small rooms, but life was lived on the big terrace, shaded by trees, with the most spectacular view of the olive groves and terraced grape vineyards down to the sea. Porch life is so good 🧡

  9. Ok is another form of good enough. The alphabet will be there. :). We’ve had fog the last few mornings, that always makes it really feel like fall. I like the idea of an earth cabin a lot.

Love the blue/green patches on the cloth hanging on your porch.
P-porch is a fie place to be!
Sitting with thoughts…from none to boom. 💖

  11. “When floating leans into wishy-washy” — Such a Powerful observation! It’s one that sets up reverberations I need to listen to. Thank you — as always — not only for your extraordinary cloth work but also for your extraordinary insights & wisdom. The two mirror each other beautifully.
