Looking

L is for just Looking

And maybe Lazy. Because yesterday  I let the day be that.  Lazy doesn't really mean doing nothing, it seems more about LessMostly Less worrying.

It was a nice weekend.  Nemo and Julio were visiting, staying here while they did a craft show nearby.

Soul-O doesn't like people.  Only me at this point. Yesterday, they left early for the show and went directly home, so it  was mostly a no people day and he came out from hiding to say hi.

Hi!

I did a bit of relaxed cobbling with a little dotty gift from Hazel. The roof cloth was dyed over cloth from an old shirt from art school days. I always loved the weave.  The red patch I cannot remember.

September in the Valley

This morning there are berries on the dogwood and he is happy to be outside again, Loving his new sunny Lookout since the old oak came down.

Liquid Safety

I was thinking about home and safety and all that.  And I stitched a little piece I call Liquid Safety.  It is very related to the Liquid Puzzle I refer to all the time.  I'm not sure how that didn't get added to the glossary yet.  But I am definitely in floating mode and seriously letting go of so many things at the moment just to lighten the load of going.

This one came together so easily, as if I just needed it.

It holds the balance of sure and not sure in such a beautiful way.

I came away with new calmness. And I guess it reminds me of why I try to get the story to surface.  So I can get some perspective.  Look at it without being in it.

Appreciate this posting so much. I’m trying to get rid of stuff before moving so your “definitely in floating mode and seriously letting go of so many things at the moment just to lighten the load of going, ” really struck a chord with me. Most things I can get rid of easily, but the fabric, yarn, and art supplies are a difficult struggle. I continue to hope that when I give away my creative supplies, someone will be thrilled to have them. Your post gives me what I needed to keep going.

“This one came together so easily, as if I just needed it.“ That sentiment made so much sense to me. There’s a sense of balance in your days that makes “lazy” seem important. Agree with Deb. It perhaps needs a new definition.

  3. Widget hides under the bed the minute she hears the gate open. I am pretty sure that people who come to visit think I might have invented her. Lazy is a word that I think needs to be redefined, or without judgement maybe. Hmm… redefined, a good “r” word. L…much love. 🙂

  4. Much to love here- the pins in sunlight, how the dots and woven spots echo each other so sweetly, the beautiful liquid piece (still sighing), and mostly the feeling of connection. oxo

I was really caught by this one. We live a few miles from the flight path of the local airport and that little light silhouette above and to the right of the house looks like what we can see when the jets take off and rise above the tree line. The house itself looks like a little rocket ship blasting off.

Lighter is a good feeling. For Life can feel Long and short at the same time and our bags can feel heavy even when they are filled with nothing tangible.

    Beautiful photo of Soul O

We spend the first half of our life collecting things and the second half getting rid of things.

So hard to part with tangible memories.

Jude, I look forward to your posts each morning Aus time as a little breakfast gift to feast on.
But it’s just shy of midnight and you are here to greet me as I wait for my 34 yr old ‘child’ comes out of theatre for a brain tumour biopsy, the tumour being too deep and inaccessible to be removed surgically. They can only discover what it is and hopefully manage with other treatments. You, your talent and Soul-o are a gift in my time of waiting.

I think we spend a Lifetime of holding on…and then, perhaps now; a time of Letting go…it brings a sense of calm, of peace (at least for me)… it seems to help Lighten the Load.
—Love the close-up pics of your pins, thread, work spot…and Soul-O of course!!
(Kahlo will spend any visiting time in my closet)
