A childhood family game – One person leaves the room and is set a challenge by those left behind. They call the person back in to guess the challenge, while everyone sings “Keep On, Keep On, Keep On …” to the tune of Auld Lang Syne. Singing louder the nearer the person gets to guessing and performing the challenge. My challenge was to pluck a hair from the leg of my dad’s cousin, who was sat with one trouser leg rolled up!!
That’s what life can feel like – a random guessing game in which we, often with our hearts in our mouths, simply Keep On.
