After a Storm

Probably one of the scariest storms I have experienced, and it only lasted 3 minutes.  I think because of the tornado warning and my expectations.  The wind sounded like a train coming, and the sudden force was shocking,  Me and Soul-o, we literally ran inside.  Everything on the porch was soaked, including the couch and the litter box.

wet

The power went out, but was back within 15 minutes.  It's 65 degrees this morning.  Windy and we are drying out.  Maybe it was worth it.

I am reading this.  It's good.  But I note to myself,  I would have added the words to the title.  So Far.  Textiles, the Whole Story So Far...

heart cabin

Yesterday, a Heart Cabin,  A heart can hold the hollow of time. A heart is capable of heat transfer,  Just catching thoughts.

  1. The storms the last two weeks have been quite intense! Glad you and Soul-o didn’t get drenched, sounds scary! Cold here today, never got higher than about 64 or so. Back to 85 tomorrow, roller coaster!

  2. So glad you and Soul-o are okay! It can be so unsettling when something like that happens. Absolutes like “whole story” frustrate me. Having said that, I absolutely love this square. Not only do I see a heart but two hands coming together. 🙂

Storms are getting worse. Here in South Jersey last night was bad. Glad you fared well. When my Dad passed he left me a little money. I converted a shed into a very nice little studio. A little kitten was living under the porch of the shed. I caught her, had her fixed ,chipped, and moved her in there to recover. She is a sweetie. My question is how to keep the cat and not have her get hurt living in the midst of sewing stuff. I cleared out baskets, threads, projects etc. Can’t bring her into the house as I have a very cat unfriendly Jack Russell old dog. Looking for some advice if you have any to give. I am at a loss on how to keep my studio and the cat.

You know, my cat doesn’t bother with any of it. I try to keep the threads , especially ones that might fal on the floor, loose ends and all that, vacuumed. But there has never been an issue. And I keep pins and needles out of reach.

Thank you! Appreciate the advice. I m trying to organize where I can work and keep the area safe for “Spooky”

Cats understand and are respectful in many ways… Little feral is sooo appreciated with what you have done… Many ferals want nothing to do with inside a home… They want love, food, and a safe place to sleep… The rest will take time… God bless you for opening your heart to one of god’s little creatures… Just keep pins etc in safe places… Think of what is needed it small children can get into it and you will be ok…

Thank you for such sound advice. My little Spooky is very sweet. Am going to try to do a little bit in the Girlie Shed today to see how it goes.

    • I have the horror story about cats and sewing…one of mine ate thread twice, once involved a lot of vet bills and we were very lucky. I try really hard to keep all spools of thread where he can’t find them and I don’t use empty spools as “toys.” I also put any projects with loose threads (and possibly a needle) into something he can’t get into. We’ve been doing pretty good for the last year with this plan. I do still have to use my drop spindle outside away from the cats though… 🙂

I especially appreciate the ” so far ” also. It is the truth. I like that I’m finding things to ponder,so often when reading your musings.

Another +lovely+ log cabin. Keyboards should have tiny hearts.
So happy you and Soul-O survived the storm. It seems so odd you have so much rain and we don’t see a drop for months. Mother nature and her strange sense of humor.

I used to like storms, but when I moved across from Detroit and the sky turned green and the birds all hid..I learned not to like them as much. Experienced a tornado there as well and that’s so scary, so I know how you felt. Back home in Nova Scotia now so summer storms are mild and enjoyable.

  7. wow! Scary! A heart can hold the ‘hallowed’ time as well.
I noticed how the colors float through this post, all relating so well together.
So far…could be added to the end of anything, eh?!

Sounds like it was intense…and CLOSE! Eeeek.
I dislike that kind of storm
Hoping for rain today ( the plants NEED it) but not intense, fingers crossed.

    Indeed; “so far” !!!!!
    Ha.

    Damned hot today… gardening early.
    Then stitch a cabin!

    65!? It was 83 at 630am here.
    GAK!

    Always heard tornadoes
“ sounds like a train” so you may have had one close!
Glad you two have cooled down…he was probably HOT too!

Sounds very intense! Our tornado warning was for a little west of here. It got windy but not scarily so.

The textile story so far, indeed.

it was scary here, too, though no tornados actually sited in the area. i’m relaly tired of these huge storms. i’m so unsettled it’s hard to work when the poplars and maples threaten to fly through my house.

      Textiles..the whole story…..
Yes, so true…we tend to forget the ” so far…” often enough:)..
Life kind of looks different when there’s even a hint of ” so far…” in it.:)
Wish we too,had a bit of a storm here instead of this relentless summer 114F….so far..:)
