I made a path.
The grass is as high as an elephant's eye but the pollen count is higher. I really need to remember to wear a mask when mowing paths this time of year. I needed to have places to walk without ticks. And I was so happy to be able to start this old mower. I just zoomed through the tall weeds yelling I did it! at the top of my lungs but no one could hear me because the old motor is so old and loud.
I tested the vat and did a little playing but it's outside and the pollen did me in. My throat is full of oak dust. But the sun did come out.

from one pathfinder to another…hooray! (and if that ol’mower doesn’t start one day, check out a fiskers push mower (yes, the scissor people). before I got rid of all lawn here, I found a used one for about $40. It was the easiest lawnmower ever! I gave it away to someone when I got rid of the lawn and even they agreed.
I’ll check it out! It’s kinda rough terrain here, but I will be moving to a more farmy area…
I can just picture you making paths with your old mower …”I did it!!”
Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
(We made a path today too…)
Made my day really. U saw your path on Insta, really beautiful…
Making a path for yourself, what a wonderful thing to do in so many ways! Especially love the yelling. This was a terrible year for allergies, felt like I had asthma. Seems to be waning.🤞🏼
Yeah, paths are evidence og going.
Awful pollen this year, scary.
Hooray for you! Starting mowers can be difficult. Ticks and pollen are bad this year. My car was bathed in yellow dust; had to wash it to go anywhere. That’s what I get for parking under the cork oak.
Yeah, a good day, despite the air quality.
Lucky you! The sun, what sun?!
I haven’t seen it in a week, oh wait…. It might be trying to make an appearance, I think it heard me! LOL
The pollen is horrible, and the wet moldy leaves worse. I wear a mask when I go out to clean up the yard with my blower.
Hooray for starting your mower! I always feel so proud when I do something someone else would normally be doing.
Sending hugs
💜
Ps where do you go to change the little photo that shows up on our message?
It’s been a few years, and I feel
Like a fraud! 🤣
I guess it is your WordPress profile if you created one.
Yeah a wet mold spring, forest fungus here.
It’s the old style pull start, wasn’t sure but poof!
Tis the season I forget the kleenex pre wash! He tells me, use one of my hankies! Lovely path to admire and tread loosely. The courage to make a new way, any direction that works. Zig zag, even circular. Never lost. 🤗
Love yer art ….and garden…sorry about the pollen and the tics .they seem hazards here in uk too yet today everyone is happy as it’s warm and sunny with no rain ! A rare thing it seems having had a long winter of damp cold days.
This post reads like that old game my daughter and her bestie loved “good thing – bad thing”…as in: the grass is so tall – but the mower worked! Full of pollen – but the sun came out! heehee The flower moon is fun 🙂
Rocking…
Nice, wide path, such a feeling of satisfaction when stuff like that gets done! I’m limiting a lot outside until the pollen subsides a bit, with histamine intolerance, it can go from fatigue to feeling like death if I’m not careful.
I felt pretty close with that dizziness. First time it ever had such a drastic effect. I love making paths.
I bet… I’ve had pollen-related dizziness before and it’s NOT fun!
I love paths! It’s always a pleasure to follow your many paths.
There are always so many ways to go…
I love your new path & the indigo pieces! Tending an indigo vat is on my bucket list; I’ve done other types of dyeing (natural & not) but I know nothing about indigo except that I love the colors and effects . . . maybe this year will be the year to try it. Hang in there, Jude – so glad you are doing things in spite of the awful pollen!
It’s work, but I love how different it is from other dyes.
I forget, do u do an iron vat?
It’s great that you yelled Jude, a victory yell. Keep going, keep doing. I don’t have a garden but I do have green onions growing on the window ledge after seeing that you plant the root end of those store bought. I hadn’t know about that previously. A few herbs will flourish outside soon here on the East Coast of Canada. Be well.
That works with celery too, if you cut off the end. I use it sparingly so I had two that lasted me all season last year. I try to buy organic when I do that.
Pollen’s almost finished here. Been a heavy one. Masks do help bunches. Great to have a pathway that’s less tick infested…great job!
Hurray for the start up of that magical vat.👏🏼👏🏼
yeah, masks remind me of covid so I am not into it for some reason,
I love just having the paths. I scattered a lot of wildflower seed last fall , hoping for a colorful summer.
It’s warming up so the vat is happier.
Planting baby indigo today! 🙂 The tree pollen is almost done here, what a relief!
It’s just awful here, probably 2 more weeks…
My Japanese indigo reseeded in the deck planters but Soul-O naps there, we’ll see. It show up in the garden soon.
Lovely post.
Hey hi!
A path less traveled…by ticks!
Ha!
Yes, you did! 😂 A victory yell of accomplishment!
Top cloth made me think of a golden rainbow.
It really was, I bet y smile was big!
I have some ideas about rainbows…
Your home is much like mine here in the hills of Eastern Ohio. I wish you didn’t have to move. But I know this type of living takes muscle. Glad you got the mower started and loved you hollered, good for you lady!!
Good for you, Jude! It’s the grass here that gets me, though we live in an Oak Grove…
Didn’t you say you would be staying for a year? Perhaps a year and a day…
I would like to send you a copy of my book, Imagination Prymm of Ipswich..
Well not sure exactly, but it seems I may be here through winter at least. Just use the contact form and I will send you my address. Yay!
I have Nancy’s book. You will love it.
I’m not much of a reader but I have decided it is time…
Oh I will probably not move to anywhere easier, I will just be closer to family. In case…
