Then
Once upon a time... a kind friend, Laura (IndigoNightOwl), sent me some of her hand dyed indigo fabrics. There was a soft circle shape and it became a Moon Face for one of my first strays, the Moon Faced Lion.
The story cloth went to Wendy who most of you know. Textile Therapy with children. She inspired the Magic Feather Project.
Anyway, then I met Glennis and learned a little bit about how to dye with indigo and basic shibori. She has some free instruction in her sidebar, a sweet and generous friend. I love her Moon of the Month. It has such a natural order to it.
And so, then, the loose dyed patch was born. Circles led to squares and triangles and essentially building blocks for the components I use in my story cloths.
Simple story building is often overlooked.
Ding! Another Day...
Glorious Days are here, if even for just a little while.
Got a new phone yesterday, so today I am still figuring it all out, how to transfer from the old phone and how to use the new one. I almost didn't want to get one but it is the world we live in. So bear with me if I am a little slow on following up with emails and stuff, I'm exhausted by all this technology. And it's nice outside which makes it even more annoying.
I have a few Stray Moon Faces for the New Moon shop update today, along with some winter crumbs.
I have removed the Ragmates page from the sidebar for some updating and rethinking. It's a new day.
Have a good weekend. I need to wander through the forest.
Maybe Tomorrow ?
Thanks to those of you who decided to play the Threadcrumbs Game.
I have 17 names in the basket and will pick one tomorrow.
So what if I concentrate on story building with loose patches for a while? Language Patches is what I have come to call them. They are simple and small and maybe you can play along?
Small can always become big through connection.

I am still considering the New Forever Zone, so just a moon for now.

Certainly late for this threadcrumb game…but should you have another..I’d love to add my name, whenever. It’s a lovely idea.
Bring a story out…..learning….whew:)
What a good round story this is.
Round and round we go.
New moon, new beginnings; a community of patches. Excited to see the next chapter.
It’s sad that more technology than we want is being forced on us.
I remember my grandmother saying that, ha, I can’t believe I am almost her age…
I’m thinking that there is much to consider or say here…but when I got to the smartphone bit…that’s it. Tech tired and resisted a smartphone all of this time. But man, the energy needed for work-arounds. As Dee said, the history feels nice…and simpler too.
It’s just how the world is wired. It’s good and bad.
I think it is simpler too.
Sorry about the tech challenges…. gesh. I’ve been holding out for years on getting a smartphone, but, as you say, the world we live in is getting more and more insistent that I have one. All the snow is dripping off the roof and the formidable ice in the driveway is melting… woot, woot.
Yeah, it is a great tool, but like everything else, you can’t let it rule your life. It is beautiful here.
“Small can always become big through connection.” Love how that is true of so many things.
Makes patchwork into a kind of community
It caught my attention, the first time you said something about scale…about working small and how it could go large. This morning thinking about how something large can become something small. Enjoy the glorious day!
Yes, there is always that! 😎
maybe it’s a circle…
New 🌝
Perfect!
A new moon, a new day, a new season–oh YAY!
( technology — ugh, ha!)
New horizons!
Omg! I have no idea why (see above comment) but the comment box has been restored for me! I have been for weeks searching high and low for it, entering your site different ways, not finding it. So glad.
I fixed it I think…😜
I’m exhausted by technology these days too. It all feels so acute. It was nice to retrace some history here with you today.
I like this format, helps me connect the dots. There are so many. So many ways.
It’s such a tangled web, nice to find a path once in a while.
Language patches…I love that!
They might speak. Alone. Or together.
Reading your page just now a thought arrived!
To review & give thought to my own creative journey.
I usually just enjoy the play, the doing, the process.
Enjoy these glorious days!
Peace be with you.
Yay! I love hearing this.
So much promise in a New Moon!
There is a deep sense of that…
You are a wonder
We all are…
The lions have appeared for Chinese new year.. They’ll be dancing
I think so…
