Nope

mostly rain here, snow was up north

last night's puzzling

No sleep.  No snow really... and still no sun. But no, it's there.  Liz's comment yesterday  has me thinking about Eclipse.  As a symbol.  Maybe Dark Sun.  That might be a great story element  to develop.  It's forming.  Dark Energy.  Very much a real thing.

thank you.

For whatever reason, I forgot to plant the garlic this fall.  There was a lot going on that I didn't much talk about here.  That didn't stop it from growing.   A little something growing always helps me through the darker days.  I'm already in a better mood.  Not everything is dependent on me.

“Not everything depends on me.” Now there’s a slogan to embroider on a pillow. Put on a refrigerator magnet. Write on the bathroom mirror with lipstick. Maybe even paint on a wall.

Any glimpse of 🌞 brightens my spirits. Opportunist squirrels have left holes in soggy grass where crocus bulbs slept. Discovering a hidden pot of daffs was happy making.
I have always felt the weight of the world on my shoulders. Have to try to keep everyone’s balls in the air. I’m going to dance in the morning though 🙂

Rain, fog and the ever present wind here today.
We are parked for the night and I am beaming, as we have just heard the dog Fox yeeping outside the van.
I love your dark Suns, and eclipses of Suns or Moons are always thrilling 🌑

Happy day here — the sun’s finally shining and the first daffodils are poking up from the earth,
Your suns today remind me of eclipses.

Foggy morning here that does not seem to be lifting.
I love the idea of the eclipse, The Dark Sun has a lot of special meaning to me.
I enjoy following along observing your process and how it naturally evolves into new ideas that relate to so many. I find your words a wonderful starting point to develop my own symbols and process.
I received an envelope of Thread crumbs on Saturday. They make me happy and excited with new possibilities when the weather is gray.

“a little something growing always helps me through the darker days”… yessssss!!! whether a plant, a grandchild, an idea… light comes in many ways. for me, it often shines thru your posts ‘n comments from fellow ragmates.

  7. The snow is here, if you want any 🙂 Snowed all day yesterday, light, then heavily, and then a lot overnight. 8″ or 10? Can’t tell. Yay for the garlic’s initiative! The tarp on your woodpile looks like a woman with her head to one side, wearing a large skirt to cover the wood.

Winter inversion and fog…sun peeking through occasionally reminding of days ahead when the ground will thaw, and life will reappear bringing some surprises and some faithful old returning friends in the spring.
Thank you always for the consistent and delightfully informative words shared…always blesses my morning to read your stories.

It is raining (atmospheric river) here on the wet coast of Canada , yet the image on the top right brings to mind the summer and wild fire smoke turning to sun into a terracotta sky .

Yup, lots going on the background here, so anything that is growing, no matter how, is such a gift…first part of this week in New Mexico will be warmer, around 40’s but by the end of the week, more rain/snow and cold…..the Aerogarden that was a Christmas gift from our landlord is taking off , pods planted the first week in January and I will be able to have a small heirloom lettuce salad next week. While this feels more like a science experiment than actually gardening, to see leaves stretching toward the light, (LED light panel that hovers over the pods, for 15 hrs, growing,, helps to dispel those moments of darkness that come, now and then…

Mother nature is speaking volumes… Actually, screaming… I see the wild turkeys are confused… The males are flirting with the ladies… And, the ladies are running away… Lol… So, it doesn’t surprise me the garlic is confused… Aren’t we all!!! No ice on the great lakes, local small lakes, no ice on the puddles…

  12. We had sun for 10-15 minutes yesterday and it was blinding. I often tell myself the sun is there behind the clouds…so yes the energy always there even when we can’t see it.

We had the pleasure of waking to a soft blanket of snow this morning in Nova Scotia, the early morning hush outside is beautiful, precious, like that hopeful green growth of your garlic. Pushing through, carrying on in spite of it all as we all will. It’s the same joy to hear you describe your thoughts and see your creations Jude.

Calls to mind the song “Black Hole Sun” from long ago. Kind of terrifying looking to me…something that is supposed to bring Light and engender new growth…now dark and menacing…

Maybe we all have our own personal suns that we need to keep shining brightly. Giving light to those whose suns are dimming a little bit x

  16. Dismal was the month of January in NC — the highest rainfall on record here in Transylvania County. I am reminded to be grateful as so many, worldwide, need water. I would love to have had rain during a ten-week dry spell last fall. Now, daffodils are peeking through the leaves promising Spring’s arrival in the Appalachians. Thanks for sharing your posts! We are so much linked to our surroundings. So much water here, but still better than none as long as we don’t wash away. Tank you for reading!
