Big rain (add the melting snow) and big wind coming.
Never a good combo when you live among big trees.
And although we are glad to live on a hill, the bottom of the road in has begun to wash away with all the extreme rain.
Not looking forward to the cost of repairing it.
This one needs a tree.
As it happened, the cloth I call Grow is looking back at me this morning. I am on wood duty again, the man's back issues keep that in place. The electric company has put out a likely power outage message.
At least there will be kindling.

Beware of the eucalypts (gum trees) as we call them in Australia). Without notice, they can lose a limb, and a few people have been in the wrong place, and have been killed in the last few months. They don’t last forever – some only live for 25 years. Don’t picnic in their shade!! We’re having wild weather here and our sunny summer hasn’t been that good; and there are still horrendous floods wiping out towns. Very sad.
yes, the storms are in rage mode. Surely I will be in the path sooner or later.

I feel like that self… thru the night and this morning was a hair raising experience 😬 Strong winds, hail, tornadoes, horizontal downpour, but we made it thru the storms with our house still standing! I feel grateful 💙🕊

We’ve had wind for days too…your wind movement on cloth is amazing! Perfect! This morning it is still and about 40 degrees. Hoping the wind stays quiet, since i have a drive to do today. Around here there are a lot of Eucalyptus trees (among others). Their bark is pretty dangerous in big winds.

The trees shed the bark and it can fall in long, pretty big pieces. We have many Eucalyptus trees along the parkway, right against the street, so it can fall in the street easily.
A long time ago in my little car, I hit a piece under my front bumper (I just didn’t see it) and it ripped the plastic under there!

We are due for high winds and rain too. Getting tiresome, all the wind storms and power outages. At least we have wood heat. That’s a new look for Grow!

Our winds had gusts up to 60 mph last night. We live surrounded by Oak groves, so fingers cross when wind storms arrive. Your tree is marvelous, Jude, the flowered design suggesting a village to me. Take care, Everyone, during these Wild Weather days…

having just weathered snow on Friday and then again yesterday and this morning but now add 45 mph winds, I’m expecting lost limbs and power waverings. so bad here most of the highways were closed in western ks.
then more snow on Friday and 4 days of bitter cold. as I wrote my brother good thing I loaded up on dried beans before the holidays! and cloth goes without saying.
the best thing I bought last year was a rechargeable battery head lamp.
oh we have those headlamps. very handy…
