I kept at it.
Tree is a special kind of self reflection. It's been in the glossary for a while but I feel drawn to work with it a bit more.
It's about standing. Season. Staying put. The travelling is a result of reaching out.
I want fringe here. Roots. Giving something roots might be a celebration of grounding. I just added that to my glossary.
I have mostly run out of all the old fringe I had collected. At least, I cannot find any at the moment. But there is always another way.
This one almost seems like a candle. or a magic wand, Deb said that and i like it.

Happy New Year Jude … thank you for this joy-full tree, reaching up to the light
Happy new year to you. It is a happy but not silly thing. joy.
This reminds me of something I recently read about giant redwood trees, how they have small and shallow root systems…how the roots of neighboring trees are what give strength and support to the individual trees. The community supporting the individual.
Spirit cloth seems a little like that sort of forest to me.
That was beautiful, thank you.
Beautiful and so full of life and vibrancy – branching out hope – what we all need
we really do
Your tree is brilliant. Yes to trees as symbols of standing, strength, and being.
The non straying self is calling
Oh, WOW! That just explodes with vibrance, but reaches so deep, as well.
It did come alive somehow!
I love the contrast in this piece. The light and the dark balance each other to make something beautiful and new. Happy New Year to all.
Yes, the dark makes the light in a way. Happy New Year!
Your tree of light cheers me on this cold gray day.
As above so below — so true when I try to dig anywhere under our giant ash tree.
There is so much rock here, I have no idea how the trees manage.
Jude,
Your new year tree is a reminder that we all have it in us to be a light in the darkness.
It radiates out a conviction to be joy, hope, love, light.
Peace.
I agree!
Yes, as Deb said about grounding ourselves, and what Jude replied about it not being that obvious a lot of times. Now, at age 82, and still recovering from a month of COVID, I am re- examining my changed boundaries, and what makes me feel grounded, as I move into some life changes. Especially seeking to do more creative work as a necessary part of becoming more healthy.
oh so sorry about the Covid, gee it’s everywhere again. Grounding is dynamic I think.
how the tree seems to be a receptor of light, embracing the wonder ‘n mystery of it…
it has many layers of light
I saw this in my email first and my first thought was, “wow… it is glowing.”
It really IS magic.
yes, I turned the light out to see, ha!
I think this just might be my favorite piece you’ve ever done.
I like it too for it’s simple message
Beautiful, Jude 🙂
feel good.
Oh, Jude, I love this! It’s so alive and full of energy . . . beautiful new things emerging!
energy, this is important!
It does seem magical. Definitely a beauty. Sending Love and Light to you for the New Year. ❤️
every little bit helps, right?
Your Tree of Light and Dark is, well, Everything. I appreciate both aspects. Somehow, though, the Light wins. Yes! Do stitch roots, Jude! They are the lifeblood, so often what we don’t see before we get to the Light…
some new symbols are emerging
It is a magical tree! Beautiful 💙
came out rather hopeful.
Magic ❤️
Light and dark is there.
A magic wand
Deb is right! 💖
Yes, I see it so clearly.
Grounding…I’ve been thinking about that. That part of releasing things is figuring out what grounds us. 🙂
A lot of times it is not that obvious.
