Letting there be lightness

grandma's crochet letting the light through

I made a cloth like this once, it is not with me but I am making another...

Even though the days are getting longer, it's hard to tell.

quilting with dots, points of light, I should make a video.

Four Years in ( plus a few days. But I let the year's end be the marker since it's so close.  I keep the bells on the windowsill  and since I rise with the sun these days, I ring one after stretching.  And I remember Mom calling and leaving a voicemail saying I'm still here!

I'm still here!

Wishing you all the best in 2024, Jude! Thanks SO much for all that you share with us. I am starting to notice a little more light, the days are starting to lengthen here . . . it makes me hopeful. My chickens started laying the day after the Solstice (they haven’t ever done that before, very unexpected). Good things are coming!

Another year…Thanks Jude, for your generous sharing, for the joy I have received in reading your posts, picking up thoughts and ideas and often being privy to another way of seeing a thing. Yes, I have enjoyed it all and look forward to more!

Oh, blessed year passing, the words and voice of this woman … and all of the shared voices here … have helped keep me/us stitched together and “going” through tumult and celebration. Reminders and vicarious connection to earth, sky, light, dark, wildlife, plant life, new life … through knot, needle and thread, drawing, tender teaching, and always, cloth. May all that wants to be preserved from this year spent here take root in our hearts to be carried forward into the year ahead.

With gratitude and appreciation, Happy New Year to all!

  8. Love this post and the star!!
Happy New Year – may this be a time to celebrate putting away days that were
difficult (I have had a few) and that 2024 will bring you and the family heath and happy days together!
Thank you for all you share with each of us
