December is becoming a new kind of marker for me since we moved here. Almost 4 years (!) ago. Time flies so quickly now, I have taken to floating, it seems softer, like time travel. Losing track just seems to enhance the journey.
I've been working on paper. And there could be so much to say about that. But I haven't been giving it words. I've just been gathering feelings.
This morning they spilled over. And I might find some words.
Soul-o and I play follow the sun these days. It'll be spring before we know it.
The lemon seed I planted this past summer has become a small tree.
Four years and I have still not washed the windows.
Still below freezing.

Love when you share your watercolors with us Jude!
Love when you love them!
love the see-thru-ness of watercolors. and the reassurance that lemons (‘n possibly avocados!) can be grown indoors. we’ll soon be movin’ from central to northern california, so eager to experiment. happy nanahood!
Yes, the transparency, how many layers you can add.
Good luck with the move.
I think different kinds of making is important and I hope you keep going with the paper. 🙂 It’s on my to-do list to wash the windows when it warms up. It’s been longer than 4 years…
I love your art, but I must say, Soul-o himself, is also a work of art. And I’m jealous of your lemon tree. I’ve tried with Meyer lemon seeds and they sprout but then peter out. I may try again but bring it inside the next time.
They sprouted easy but I lost a lot of them. The ones I put outside did not do well. I kept this one on the porch and I paid attention to ,seems OK. There is another small one that isn’t growing as fast. Fingers crossed.
So talented in painting, sewing, and writing and a beautiful cat, too. No wonder you have no time to wash windows :-). I’m doing good just to get the spider webs down.
I hardly notice, but I could just hose them off once in a while. The window where the bird feeders are really needs attention…
Swallowing the Sun & Singing with the Moon in her throat…always love your drawings. 🙂
The lemon tree has done so well! Enjoy the season, this time with the Man, family and Soul-o…and the world all around. xo
Thanks, it’s s sliwer now, I’m letting them change over time. Trying to work a bit on paper every day.
Beautiful images. I feel a children’s classic being born, with sun, moon, sky, clouds, cat…..some growing leaves. All floating by…
Floating is an important component suddenly.
I don’t know you, and I see in your work such a singular expression o your essence to be honored and loved.
Your cooment warms me on this cold winter day…✌
No words and gathering feelings, love this
maybe this is important for my continuing…
yes, it’s been so for mine….
seeing your paintings I can’t help recalling that you once aspired to be a children’s book illustrator … I do hope some bookmaking for Bruno is in both your futures
Yes, I think Nanahood has reinspired me, imagine that!!!
Lovely, soothing waves they are, Jude…
I am drinking in the last vestiges of November…
It has felt like December here, maybe December will feel like November…
Your paintings cheer me up❤️. I have a lemon tree that produces several lemons every year. And it invariably dies almost completely back. Outside it goes for the summer(Vermont). I added some worm castings from our composting worms and it is green and full and flowering now. The lemons are delicious. 🍋
great to know, I was wondering…
I am hoping the same for my avocado tree which is about 6 feet tall already…
Your illustrations just thrill my heart!
Still chilly here ( light frost this a.m.)
Soul-O is such a handsome guy…my kitties and I follow the sun too ( well, sometimes they spend hours snug in their beds– you know, during the day🙄 so they have plenty of energy for night-romping, ha!)
I’ve been making Christmas garlands w felt for gifting…tis the season!
But I’m already dreaming of Spring, ha ha!
I think I need another flowerbed……
from your photos, it seems like spring to me, even tho it is winter!
Softly present … I feel charmed by these photos. Thank you.
Softly present is a fine compliment.
Beautiful expressions on paper lovely to see them feel them
I am delighted, actually, to have a paintbrush in my hand…
Good morning Jude🌞
your paintings are wonderful! and I leave the window washing to the rain 🙃
these are unfinished but I am beginning to see them as bases.
the windows here are hard to get at and also under overhangs so rain isn’t helping, ha, but it’s ok.. my eyes don’t notice much.
