a day in the middle of nowhere…

me and my boy

A long drive, a sudden snow squall,  a long walk,  a bit of exploring  and a bit of gift giving.  There is a new little house on some very beautiful large land.

They have settled in.  Bruno showed me around. The folks next door keep bees and gather honey.

Nana Self became a pillow so I can be there when I am not.   Some of it's fragile cloth will wear away just like me,  but the self will remain apparent.  I stitched it to a premade pillow cover so  it needed to be trimmed a bit.  Easily removed for washing.  I have loose leftover scraps and you know I can find a use for those...

What a joy filled post! Just imagine all the travelers who marvel at those hands. And think of all your friends who feel your Nana-love. Your stitches are the magic that makes the world a better place. Wow, that’s a lot of power for one grandmother!

Nana… what a wonderful gift of time with family. Soon that little fellow will walk all over his land with you. The pillow is a perfect share of you!

What a beautiful snowy day for a visit..
A great photo to have to look at with two sets of hands sharing close space.
I was taken back by the dark beard.. wondering whose side of the family it came from… don’t see much of “the man” in photos.
The pillow is lovely and will be a constant reminder of the love and life you have shared and still creating!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Ha! I thought it was your boy’s lady in that photo, and thought ‘gosh she looks like Jude!’ 😆
How wonderful to be Nana, and gift your beautiful Nana Self pillow.
Bees and honey and beautiful large land…dreams. 😍

In this time of thanks and giving, to be a Nana is the ultimate gift. Seeing the world through Bruno’s eyes, exploring together, a pillow to rest on… a pillow made with love and Nana’s magic cloth scraps that transform into a story of family, of giving and receiving…and in the center of it all, simply, LOVE.

What fun…I miss little hands, my grand babies are about the age to have their own little ones….only hope I can see their little fingers and toes. The pillow is just super. Happy Holidays❣️

Oh, what a delight to visit loved ones in the country…and bees and honey just sweeten the deal! Best of all though? Those chubby, dimpled little hands…❤️ Enjoy this special time, Jude…Cloth waits…

Oh how precious Jude! Seeing your hands there with the little ones made me smile. And that pillow! Stunningly beautiful work as always.
