Just Life with Large Cloth

5 AM. Coffee. Looking.

Yesterday there was air duct cleaning. That was a trip. Forced air heating is new to me and I have to say I do not like it.  The system was here, not used much because it was a summer home.  Cleaning it up.  We have many options here, set it up that way to survive surprises.  It is quite energy efficient.  Saving up for some solar  as well.  You never know.  It is quite warm again.  One fire a day seems to do it for now.

I simply stopped to look at the form this cloth  (Balancing Act)  took after simply pinning it up and out of the way to expose the vent.  How cloth is so liquid.  Responsive.  How this says balance in a new way.  Balance as a dance with change.

the form it takes when it needs to

This morning, one thing over another.  A touching.

Nine for Peace. As if it was simple

Nine for Peace, again,  (over Spin).  Once a simple cloth,  now a reminder that life is not a fairy tale and we might simply help each other build shelter from the storm.  If we can.  I will make it bigger.  Make it a Large Cloth.  Big enough to hold joy.

This afternoon, dentist. Again.

In the words of the poet himself. The message this past Sunday was on gentleness. Soft eyes soft heart comfy soul soothing gentleness. The world is bleeding. It needs nursing.

How perfectly those two align! Interesting to see ceiling and bottom of the wall vents. In NV we had floor vents, here ceiling. I’ve never seen two on the wall like this and it caught my eye. How’s that for some deep thinking comment?!
Good luck at the dentist. It’s funny that old saying about “getting old is not for sissies” always has me thinking of Michelle, since I first heard it from her. In my heart it will always remind me of her. I think of even more in the Fall.

not familiar with vents before this place. each room has this configuration plus a floor vent under the window and a return vent in the ceiling, many layers of fixes here over the years so who knows…
ah Michelle, thinking a lot about here lately too.

Fairytales. Early on, I learned some useful lessons from the little red hen, the turtle and the hare, the fox and the crow, the goose that laid the golden egg, Hansel and Gretel, snow White and the seven dwarfs, good and evil, wisdom and foolishness, Little red riding hood, The Emperor’s new clothes , Wishful thinking, imagination and reality.
I learn a lot here from all of you too in this wonderful group that Jude has created. Thank you,

Oh, I dunno, Jude …we tend to think of fairy tales like Disney, but really way back, they were quite dark & foreboding, filled with warnings of caution — yeesh, like; ….life!
    Right?

Best of luck w the dentisting…ugh!

I think I’ll clean some this morning ( maybe) and more importantly, go play outside today….my Soul needs some easing.
Hope your day ( like a Disney fairytale) has a HAPPY ending 😉
    Xoxo

Ugh. The dentist. Well, take care of those pearlies, Jude, as long as you can…
Life isn’t a Fairy Tale, for sure. That’s why we need them…
My sweet 7 month old granddaughter loves them…and I love telling the stories!

yes, they balance what is. But then I have been thinking about the story form and how it might evolve… many fairy tales are not that at all.
