Wondering about how form holds change. Even though it seems so still. How we focus on the constant rather than what frames it.
Maybe it is related to the need to be held. To hold.
Or. The illusion that it is possible.
The trees made a blanket while I was watching. From scraps of self.
We had to cut the redbud in early summer to allow access to a repair truck. It sprouted again, and here, the last green hanging on... seems to sing I am still here. I will tend to her. Below freezing this morning but warming has begun again.

Jude, those green roots; well, I’m a plant and tree person, and I felt those, I can relate to those. That is one way I know you and I and most of us here are similar in our love of nature. I bet those roots would hold you and sustain you in many ways.
roots as a common thread!
Oh, the growing, dangling, reaching, going green roots!
I love that they can create fringe, so weaving too
Just to let you know that I have followed you now for several/a few? years and continue to enjoy your thought-provoking words, the seasonal photos and our common thread – creative stitching. Thank you for the effort you put into these posts. I’m sure you have many silent readers. You are part of our life.
reading can be silent conversation, thank you for saying…
Oh, my . . . rooted hearts! They brought tears to my eyes this morning. Love this.
aren’t they great floating there, still green in the freezing air?
Those redbuds are sturdy trees and very persistent. I have a smallish one (maybe 12 feet tall) in my yard and there must be several hundred seed pods hanging on it ready to fall and take root.
yes, planted here before we moved here almost 4 years ago, I am happy to see it survive.
The roots, the leaves, we are here!💚🎉
here
“The illusion that it’s possible.” Such a big key there. Love those green hearts. Beautiful resilience.
made me very happy to see them this morning…
Nature survives 💚
with no help from human nature
“Love grows where my Rosemary goes”!!
Cool hearts.
Singing!
The illusion that things can be held? That they can be still? Thinking about that…maybe only for a moment. Redbud…the rooted heart. 🙂
it is hard to imagine stillness not being possible. I like the challenge.
I love that picture, those green hearts out there in the freezing cold.
Oh how the little green roots will hold that heart in place.
grounded but not stuck
Framing…I like to think it stems from the need to hold, but I am inclined to believe it’s sometimes a need to own, to control. I like the floating…light and airy.
I’m glad you are taking care of the redbud. Such a beautiful announcement of Spring!
yes, worth reconsidering…
she certainly is going with style…
