Sun's return.

Sun changes everything.

Today I sit with paper.  I sit with watercolors.  I sit with my past. I think about how going back can simply be turned into going forward.  Not holding on or repeating, but going.

usefulness

There was an idea here, as I recall, a concept.  The cloth scraps, scraps of self.  Stitched to paper.  Gluing cloth, nah... Then some stray self might form around them with paint or pencil.   I discarded the idea at the time.  Mixed media confuses me.  But this, ok, I think I feel something useful here... both materials are still themselves.

Well I deleted Jetpack and reinstalled and got at least a nonautomatic way to comment (meaning lines to fill out below the box). We’ll see if I can get my streamlined commenting path back.

yeah Jetpack has been acting up. I recently cannot comment on Liz’s blog. Here we are, the technology challenge. Everywhere we turn.

Oh this is someone I would love to walk a while with and listen to the stories told or share a metaphoric glass of beer with, as we did so. …so artful..so full.
And yes..every so often, we have to go back to go forward ..it does works well for so many things.
So good to ‘hear’ things father’s and mothers sometimes say when they stand and look over our shoulders. There is much loving to hear.
      Love your posts.
Thanks. It puts the day at rest…. for starters.

In this piece, the painted part and the cloth seem to blend to me … like the beast’s hair could be coming down onto the cloth in embroidered points, the way you so often “marry” one piece of cloth to another. I like this … a paper “doll” with fabric clothes. Intriguing.

Recycling ideas is useful. I often see something completely new.
    Yay for paper and cloth!
Needle and brush. Nice visit with your dad!

I love this so much…the actual art is grand, I love how you are integrating old w new and “hearing”your father’s voice.
