Nine dujour

OF the Day.

It's hard to express how dark it has been here lately.  A little nine to give that form...

dujour

nine for no matter how dark it is there is always light.

It's hard to say how wet it is and it is still raining.  I'm thinking we might need new words to go with this new climate.

I am inspired by the liquid frame around the leaf.

Leaves are turning. It is almost October after all.  Maybe you have seen the pictures of  the flooding in New York City and north here in the Hudson Valley.  The thing is, here in this part of the Valley, well just picture a 30 foot pile of rocks with a river running underneath.  No water settles  for long on the ground here, it moves right through and continues on it's way.  I can hear it,  undergound, sometimes.

It was worth the work

The wood is dry. Good timing.

I am probably going to update the shop with a few stitched things tomorrow evening, we'll see.

The skies here continue to cry none stop.. so again last night, no moon, just thunder and lightening.. but this morning! Some clear blue with the large moon setting! I was so happy!! Your voice is so calming, I cant imagine it waking your man!

The yellow in that leaf is astounding, and your nine patch is wonderfully mystical, hinting at your hidden rivers. And then there’s those stacks of wood that bring us back to practicality.

  3. Smiled as I listened to you. Yesterday I arranged nine dots into a square and thought of you. And then I took them apart and started stacking them on top of each other. Thinking of the water running underneath.

    Floods & drought.
    Light & dark …
    Change of Season…
Love listening to you tell the story of the nine patch.
    And a river beneath you.
    ((Hurray for high ground!))

    Planted chrysanthemum this morning.
    Now to ninepatching!
