Applique

A is for Applique.  Ornamental needlework in which pieces of fabric are sewn or stuck onto a large piece of fabric to form pictures or patterns. Applique Page

But really then, Applique is simply a form of collage, right?  Simple as that, if you think of it that way it will free up your mind to go in many directions.

InsideOut Applique– using the “wrong” side out.

Woven Applique– using the cloth to cloth method.

Origami Applique– I named this form of applique Origami, because it reminded me of just that.  Folding cloth to create a shape.

Integrated Applique –A way to apply patches  and merge the surfaces.

UpsideDown Applique– turned up instead of under.

Hybrid Applique– mixed technique, maybe half turned and half ragged

Paperchain Applique

Masking– like mola, but try it layered.
