Centering

Early this morning.

I thought there must be something in there... but these cordwood walls are solid.

It was a wasp.  They often nest in the gaps between the wood and mortar .

I hear something

Later,  I noticed the geranium on the windowsill has bloomed.  I brought it in because someone told me it would winter over indoors.  Still I was surprised.

I am sitting with Heal, the cloth I call Heal ...

Stitching the river in the center.

I'm moving around from this to that.  It's all one story really.

holding the flow

It's raining.  To say April showers is putting it mildly. The frogs are in heaven...

  1. Jude~ The way of the river flowing…and the flower blooming – lightness in heavy times, healing. I love this cloth and appreciate “it’s all really one story” – indeed.
Red flowers have many meanings in Feng Shui 🙂 Which way does your window face?
I have to say that I like my insects on the outside…I’m very overreactive to stings and bites! Yikes.
Wind is so big here that I thought it was pouring until I got up and looked! haha

It’s a south facing window. The house is round so I have many choices.
I’ve gotten real good at catching insects inside and escorting them out.

My home is like a insect hotel 🙂
I really like all the noise and busyness outside, especially after a long winter .
    Peaceful life.
Your cloth speaks to me, we all need some healing
    cloth!

Yeah, I’m not fond of mosquitoes but mostly it’s honey bees and small spiders and wasps going about their business.
I pick this cloth up when I need to.

  3. Heal…yes. We all need some. A form of mending. You’ve reminded me to get at least one red geranium. They are so much fun for pigment experiments.

It really is all one story isn’t it… Thank you for that. My geranium lives inside all year round now. The squirrels and chipmunks destroy any plants I put out on the deck in the summer. She is very thick and blooming right now. Responding to the growing light.

I recognize that water print fabric from other pieces you’ve created, the quilt is amazing. I look forward to your photos and sparing language, its like poetry.

I saw somewhere if you crochet a wasp nest and hang it wasps will go away. Not sure if that is true.

Oh, the comfort that working on large cloth must feel. Just the weight of cloth must be centering in itself. Inspiring.

Timely, yes. I took a picture of my blooming Lenten Rose, growing in a sea of Skullcap, and right beside the Lenten Rose, an Oak seedling sprung up. All are One, connected. Gardens make good teachers.

I like the idea of all the cloths being connected. I didn’t manage to overwinter a geranium until I inherited my sister’s. She had a real way with plants. Now I have several that flower all winter long.

Yes, it helps me to connect the dots.
This one was kinda sickly, a gift, didn’t do well outside, but I took real care, took it in and it finally revived. Compost helped a lot.
