I do remember the pin story Jude. I’m reminded of it every time I’m tempted to hold a pin in my mouth and hesitate and put it in a pin cushion instead. Too old to stand on my head now.
Apparently, even nothing can be something. It all depends on how we look at it AND what we need. I loved reading everyone’s take on nothing and pins in a cloth. I also love the idea that ‘nothing’ can mean rest.
Good evening Jude,
I’d just turned on the evening news, when I spotted your post. Thank you for your interruption… Who needs to hear the scrap that’s usually on, when I can be entertained by something as common as sewing pins, all in a line with brightly colors as heads.
Thank you so much for sharing your post with all of us.
Have a wonderful evening.

This appeared in my inbox recently reminding me that to take a break from the onslaught of info and busyness is vital for my soul. https://ahundredfallingveils.com/2026/03/26/nothing/ “Why do I put off, again and again, the chance to be intimate with nothing ” Pins are optional. ❤️
Jude~ The colors in this simplicity are beautiful. Better to walk by and insert a pin into this (yes, I saw it too) ladder, than to hold it in your mouth. 😉 Enjoy all of the pieces, however they come. xo

It takes me way back, how nice it is remembered…
Remembered here in Wales too. I remember the sharp intake ‘oh’ and the ‘eeek’ as I read it! Like Alison, I’ve never put pins in my mouth since!
Ha! Me either…

Well that settles that, right?
There’s nothing wrong with nothing because nothing always comes before something.
Which makes it something 😂

Not nothing to me either! Great idea….looks intriguing…there’s always something…..Lovin your take on stuff.
yes, nothing is impossible
Turn this horizontal and it’s a musical score… love that. Sweet nothing.
oh, ha, great!
Enjoy nothing; the brain needs rest.
I’m a pinless seamstress now; two friends lost cats due to pins.
Oh, gosh, how sad!
h, that’s awful.
I think my cat is too distracted my mice.
I am careful tho.

Sometimes we need a nothing day. Enjoy.

Holding space
Love that
love the idea of holding on by a pin
Many images come to mind
Sometimes there is a dearth of ideas…revel in the quiet between-times.
ideas are tiring
