It's warming up, yet the farmer next door reminds me that snow in April is common here.
And this same farmer, who has become a good friend, has agreed to do some brush clearing here. Trying to squeeze that in while the terrain is still visible. Stuff grows fast here. And there is a lot of rock. Can't wait to experience the Brush Hog.
And Look! Yay! Food. On a patch of earth.
One of the slices from last year's tree clearing has weathered nicely. I'll save this one. Maybe a little table?

Love these thoughts, Jude! It is all about the process, and what comes out in those lovely moments. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Happy Spring!
It’s a river of going…
Thank you for your thoughts.
I enjoy collaging with papers I’ve printed. Like play it’s also a journey of discovery. Thought by thought, conversing with the material.
“just a journey that you could sleep under.” I listened to this audio from you twice. I think it holds a key to unlocking my block with my next quilt top. I’m putting pressure on myself to compose the whole thing at once, and it’s just not going to happen. Thanks so much for your words and thoughts, as always, and sending love.
It works, just go…
That resonates with me too, the journey you can sleep under. Maybe because its takes me to the idea of wrapping myself up in a different reality for a while.
On with the going…
Maybe wrapping oneself in possibility
Thats a beautiful thought, Jude, thank you
I loved your ideas as you spoke today, creating a cloth of all those left over bits I have accumulated, pinning them on a larger cloth and seeing what happens. As you said , ‘a kind of journaling’, a story in itself.
I like the process of just moving them around , tking them down to work on them, combining them, and on and on…
The Nine Patch with the deep red center square❤️…like the center of Queen Anne’s Lace.
Queen Ann’s lace grows everywhere here.
Like those last few lines… “…a kind of flow, not a thing, really, but just a journey that you could sleep under.” The stump looks a bit like an wobbly heart, then I saw the stone down to the left and though, oh, a different heart, that one kind of stretched.
Good luck with brush hogging. That could be interesting. And, yeah, folks forget that April can pop out a good snowstorm if it wants to!
Those words just kinda slipped out. Love when I am surprised by my own explanations.
Hearts are everywhere, probably because they’ve been on my mind.
I need some open space, very overgrown and swampy in spots, some grading to lead the water will happen.
I used to be surprised by what came out of my mouth all the time when teaching… loved that as well. Have another heart 🧡
It’s not always what’s expected, but I like to hear myself fumble as well. Thanks.
Can’t wait to hear about the Brush Hog experience!!
You always bring a smile and a new thought to my day!
Yeah, I love to watch farm machinery in action. This guy has 250 acres of beautiful land, sustainable maintained.
The small square are 1 inch is that right? I need to decide on a size to do a bunch of them.
Improvisation is the best practice and I appreciate the permission you give for that.
Yes. 1″, I work with them a lot.
Yum dandelions
I literally live on them, and wild garlic, as veggies, all season.
Love the thoughts. Thinking about the journey and dreaming…
I’m tangled up a bit. I have to talk more, didn’t get it all out…
Nice collection of nine patches. I celebrated my 84th trip around the sun yesterday by buying myself a chain saw and driving an automatic. Never too old for new experiences.
Really into the chainsaw idea. A new image for me. A stray self in the forest. There is so much windfall here.
Happy Birthday, Judith! I totally LOVE that you bought yourself a chainsaw! I bought myself a welding machine many years ago when I turned 55. You are an inspiration!
The design wall is lovely. I like the 9 patches on a red wall! It seems to me that you are making the new home into a magnificent ‘Jude space’.
That’s what we do over time, shape the space into a place. It’s a journey too, one we can sleep in.
Jude~ There is something so freeing about this. It is enough. Something about the pieces pinned there together is connecting with this glue work I’m doing, I want to sit with this idea. The wood is beautiful.
It frees me from the “thingness”. I got stuck in that over time.
The wood yes, gonna try to learn to work with wood somehow. Get me a chainsaw 😂
Such a pretty color your wall is to showcase your beautiful pieces 💙💙💙
It’s kinda out of place here, but it is a nice color.
sleeping under a journey. nice! i could do that!
Sweet dreams!
The journey that you could sleep under. I love that thought. Imagine.
I am thinking about it more.
