A Warm Morning MidMarch

Last night I thought  some trees would fall. The wind was big.  It was warm, woke up to no snow and birdsong. There will be an inch of rain today. Better than an inch of snow, but probably 3" of mud.  The ground is thawing slowly.

I finished up another thread keeper last night.  There are more waiting.  I was talking about these in the Forever Zone.  There is space for more of that, waiting for me to settle down.  I'm waffling on how I will continue. Fool's Day is my cut off date to begin again.  Still considering.

I had grapes for breakfast. While marveling at how the power rarely goes down here. Cell service, another story.

I took a few pictures yesterday, tracks, there were so many kinds.

All gone this morning.

There's a stray cat coming around, I haven't seen him yet, but I can smell him.

I saw cathedral windows in the tire tracks…. different if you see the positive or negative first and in a different way. I definitely see trees now too!

The tire tracks really do look like trees! Peggy McG’s comment about AZ having a hot spell triggered memories of my forties. Those hot spells didn’t reach 100, but they were uncomfortable. Even a canoe camping trip with a troop of Mariner Girl Scouts in the boundary waters of Minnesota didn’t help.

Yes, it seems easier to stay warm that to stay cool. Outside that is, after take off all your clothes, then what? Jump in the water maybe?

We live among groves of Oak Trees, and they shed limbs this time of year. Even a small limb is heavy! So when the Wind is high, we avoid the trees…
    Love your thread winder…

I too think your tire marks look like trees..although I liked the comment about a trellis. AZ is getting a hot spell into the 100’s. I cant camp in that.. so slowly driving back to MN… hoping most of their blizzard snow will have been cleared off the roads.
I really do like cold better than hot weather!

    Good afternoon Jude,
High winds all day here in NW Ohio. Weather is surely iffy bright sun one minute, snow squalls next. This wind is tossing the trees around like rags on the line. Sure hope the little buds aren’t harmed. My tulips have tiny buds, tucked down in the long protected leaves. You tire track remind me of a rose trellis we had for the rambled rose when I was a kid. The big humble bees loved that rose. Trying to pick a bouquet was for the brave, all the thorns on that rose.
Blessings for a week of what ever mother nature decides to hand us.
Not long before the sap will begin to flow.
    Be well 💜
    Pat

Jude~ Love the Still Life with Spring! Those faint shadows are so sweet, as is your thread keeper. 🙂 Love the bold tracks too and trying to figure out how they were made. haha

The snow tracks look like trees.
Glad you were safe in the big wind.
I remember you having trouble with power outage at your place by the sea.

Yes I love the design, might work with it.
I have never lived in a place with such a great power network. Small company, great maintainance.

the pic of tracks that appear ‘n disappear with the snow… reminds me of possible paths, taken or not taken, each day. choices we make… wondering what the stray cat is like. we have a few bengal cats around. mighty hunters. sometimes they come inside for a visit…

When my husband and I lived in the Hudson Valley the power seldom went out. When we moved to NJ, please don’t ask me why lol, and the power went out every time we looked around!

Glad no bodily injuries with falling trees!
Severe weather here early this morning through to 11, tired of storms and grey skies 😒
Hope the cat is a nice one 🤞🏼

i heard a tree break last night. it was…sobering. this morning, it was a branch only. two trees fell on my old house, one took down a brick chimney, the other a porch screen. another fell on the car, with me in it. the car, that is.

Eek, I’m glad I had all the tree work done when I moved in, too much $ but safer. I hear trees fall in the distance, such a unique sound.

I L❤️VE your thread keepers!! Though I have yet to be lucky enough to score one on Threadcrumbs. One day…

Enjoy the lack of snow! Though I believe I prefer snow to mud. Ha!
