safe and warm and grateful

layers

and dark and light

And here we are again at season turning.  Let there be more light.  I mean that in so many ways. For all.

Here on Sydney it’s 5 minutes to Midnight, Dec. 31.
Very best wishes to you, Jude, for the New Year, and to all your family and friends and all Cloth Whisperers on this page. Wow; I’ve just seen 10 minutes of brilliantly lit-up Sydney Harbour and our Harbour Bridge with incredibly beautiful fireworks and a golden dripping curtain of fireworks from the top of the bridge to end. That’s our New Year’s Eve treat – wish you could see it!

  2. Plants. I’m stuck on the plants. I can’t get past them. What sorcery is this, that they’re thriving so well in the north? This display is so cozy; let this light wrap itself around you and keep you light and warm, too.

    Good morning Jude,
Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.
As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other’s permission …
May we all shine a little brighter, it gives hope to others.
    Blessings for a brighter tomorrow!

As I light the candle, nestled in my reed basket that contains pine cones from many places we have lived, sprigs from the miniature Colorado blue spruce that is our festive tree and dried orange slices, my symbols of the coming of the light, I send you this old Celtic blessing for Winter Solstice::
“Deep peace of the running waves to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
May the beauties of the earth, sky and sea
Fill your heart with lasting peace and contentment”

Oh, Jude! Season is our teacher! It reminds us to rest when it’s time. And to awaken, too. For now, I hunker down. I’ve been doing gentle yoga with candle. I sleep so well. A Blessed Wynter Solstice to you.
