Wordless in December

The weather report doesn't really seem to matter here.

Winter has come early despite the prediction of warmth. I have always wanted to draw bare branches like this.  But the randomness always escapes my lines.

The Culmination of Imperfection

I have settled into the comfort of the unexpected.  Imperfection, as we  consider it, it seems mostly not to conform to what we expected or planned. I have all these loose dyed patches that, well, you might say, didn't come out right.

Working with these odds and ends  makes me realize they are symbolic of that liquid puzzle I always talk about.

I'm intrigued by letting go of the recognizable to see what forms.

I care so much less about so many things.

I'll keep going.

We are warm and making do with how it is. I got him a bigger pod but he likes to squeeze into this one.

It's December.  I am going to pause a bit.  Almost a year in.  Still confused. But life shapes us.  I 've just realized how much I have changed in the last year.  I've lost track of the Alphabet. Let's skip to Z for now. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I'm going into hibernation till January.  Take care.✌️

I like your loose dyed creation very much! And your home fire pic looks like you are much cozier than you were a year ago. I hope that is true and that you just need to rest in a well-deserved break. I admire your strength and your artistry. May the days and your heart speak to you for a bit. Peace, comfort, and joy to you…in any way you can find it.

ohh…I share your endless fascination for trees…their shapes, their layers, their shades…a continual prompt for creativity and reflection…
Jude, may your holidays be warm and cozy and highlighted with childish delights.

Enjoy your long winter’s rest. My cats enjoy their cuddling spaces too. I have a collection of photos of cats in strange places; saucepan on the stove, bread bowl, upside-down hat, etc. If-I-fits-I sits.

The quiet season holds so much; it is my most heartfelt season; going deep into self, melding into season refreshes me as well as nourishes. My teenage grand kids were here for Thanksgiving. One of the things that caught their eye was my little meditation scroll, about 48:” long, made from my naturally dyed cloth scraps. We spoke of where I got the foraged materials to make the colors and markings and they sat quietly fingering each patch. They asked if they could have some of my scraps; to take back to CA with them as they both felt making a meditation scroll was a good way to enter into this time o season and face the coming year. They will be Seniors in high school next year so it will be a time of change and possibilities for them. .My grand kids are twins, a boy and a girl and this sweet asking for my cloth scraps filled me with a deep joy. May you enjoy the quiet joy of this 3eason and of your own sweet grand kids, dear Jude.

Mine cats seem to prefer the smaller pods too! Rest well Jude, you’ve had a challenging year. Letting go is a good thing. A heartfelt thank you for sharing your beautiful work and your musings. 2026 here we come!

Wishing you and Soulo warmth, peace, and introspection. Be one with the bear and all the other natural things that go underground at this time. 🤍❄️

  13. Letting go a lot of things is the best we can do.
It makes me feel looser in body and mind and give me rest so I can do things….
Contradictio in terminis but feels good….
    Enjoy the free
    Love
