It took me a while to continue on this one from a while ago. I thought it was September but it was August? Gosh time is a blur lately. Anyway, Hollowed Out and Still Standing has stuck with me, I'm working around that. I cut a hole and stuffed some dark cloth in there. Now stitching to bring it roughness and spin. I'll walk past those trees again tomorrow. Maybe I'll tell them a story.
One of the guys working here saved me the mouse skull he found in the rubble.

Cool skull. My first thought was shrew skull because of the long snout, but maybe shrew skulls have even longer snouts. I love the hold in the tree.
Yes me too, but I think mouse…
So much treasure here.
Your creations are portals. I love them.🌀
The tiny mouse skull.🤎
others often intuit how certain items would be appreciated by one. to receive a mouse skull would be so cool. i enlarged the photo to see the little threads still on the skull and the eye sockets are so amazing. what a find!!
your tree reminds me of an owl i hear occasionally in the neighborhood but rarely see it. we also have a turkey buzzard lurking who has been helping with body removal of squished animals. sad to see the animals but glad that the buzzards are around to remind us of the circle of life.
I am shocked by it’s bare beauty…
Those Turkey Buzzards are amazing, unusually useful
tree rings. small round holes in disintegrating cloth. a tiny skull from a previous occupant… layers of time, softly interwoven in a circular path. like the cottage itself. honoring the past. imagining what will be… x
thinking a lot about holes lately
How beautiful Jude
❤️
Trees are good company…
Yes. I love how they whisper…
A beautiful delicate skull! and how kind of the workman to save it for you.
I think I almost see an owl peering out of her hole in the strong tree.
Yes, some people surprise me.
I like almost seeing…
I love the skull, too.
Revisiting this piece now, I wonder how it will go vs. if you added to this at a sooner or later time. Kind of like infinite timelines, without right or wrong.
Yes, the context of the moment. Always curious…
Jude~ A beautiful Boo Radley tree. A hiding spot for a tiny skull? Sing a song for me when you walk by, eh? xo
I talk more to the trees than to people.
You have got quite a palm!
A map
Hollowed out parts are perfect for filling with dreams and wishes!
Sounds weird, but I love the tiny skull. So cool, and a possible inspiration some time, especially in this Season. I could’ve saved a fox skull that I found down by my lake, but I chose to leave it.
MaybeI will hang it outside my door for Halloween. I left the deer bones from last winter…
Yes, places.
beautiful!
