The Just Going

It's been easier to be on paper. Most of the cloth stuff is stashed away to keep it away from all the dirt and dust.  I sit once in a while amid the chaos, a shoebox of scrap paper, paints, brushes and pencils.  A bit of wheat paste and a scissor.  No agenda for this one except a chance to keep going and consider, once again, how image forms.  Layers of days.  Layers of possibility. Filled with emotion. There could have been a lot said about this as I went along.  Now there is a distance from that.  Hard to explain.

A thrift shop find.  Very thin silk. Stuffed trapunto style with colored scrap. Just loved the play with thinness.

September cloths still hanging around. And it is October.

Grace has made her way to WordPress, it's different so she is learning. The transfer from Typepad to WordPress is not as easy or smooth as they say.  The link to her new place is here.  Give it time.

Very inspired by your blog Jude. I sense you are experiencing change.
Autumn leaves are falling here layering up energy in the soil for the long sleep. .
Sending hopeful vibes for new roots accross the pond. Julie

love the see-thru-ness of the beast’s back leg… how that might translate into patchwork with an overlay of see-thru cloth on top, scraps of paper in the middle, all quilted onto a thin cloth backing… ‘n hung in front of a window. ha!…

Will you- or do you- have a trapunto lesson???
I love your ability to create and bloom and just continue in these times… it’s not easy for some of us…

  4. Ooooo…I really love the idea of colored fabric for the stuffing. Love to all the elements you pulled together on the card. Layers of meaning and story. A dream. Went to visit Grace. We can do this! 🙂

I could gaze and gaze and gaze at your piece, my thoughts wandering, shifting. You say “layers,” I think “levels…”
