And now...
A recentering. The chaos that surrounds me us is apparent. I like this side today because it holds holding on.
I simply searched for inside out nine, I found reference to it here, several times. This is what I said in 2024.
Interesting in it's consistency.
I am just thinking. A lot. Though I always get the advice "don't think". Thinking works for me. I will continue on that path.
I am both sides now.
While thinking about nine as a frame, I also began thinking about framing itself and how art is so linked to that concept. Just wanted to say I found this old folding glass frame that works so nicely to show both sides and also see through. I like that. Not that I will leave it there, just catching the thought.
But then what if art might be defined by framing a thought?
I am not talking today.
My property backs up to this field of ragweed. Hiding in the goldenrod.
I'll wait a bit till the sneezing subsides.

What a calming pastoral scene! So decidedly eastern….at least east of me. The deciduous forest and the lack of mountains are give-aways. It looks like the illustrations in the books of my childhood.
Hi Dana, yes, western Catskills is a rolling soft mountain thing. This is the huge farm next to me. Just talking to the farmer here yesterday when he came by to look at the pile of gravel he will spread for me as soon as he finds time. He has about 300 acres here, so beautifully maintained. And he has told me it can never be divided because there is an state easement on his land which will happily prevent development. Same with the farm on the other side. Peace.
Jude I love the idea of the frame to see both sides ..
the concept is so thought provoking .. thanku
The space around you looks so inviting .
Wishing you well Jude

Me too!
It’s beautiful here and autumn is my favorite season…
deb’s comment took me back to “day” dreaming in 6th grade. My desk was beside a large upstairs window. bliss! how suspending the folding glass frame in front of the window frame allows the outside view to become a living, moving, ever changing perspective for the 9-patch… very cool!
What if the window was a folding glass frame?
Thinking, dreaming…. not something to give up. Love the image of the square in the frame held to the light. The change in perspective, the layers.
Made me image “windows” frames, with new eyes. Whatiffing quietly today…
And wow, is thinking dreaming?
Yes. 🙂 It’s part of why I chose it for the new blog and am figuring out how I wanted to write about it. Maybe simply, the science…that as we are sleeping we process our experiences, emotions, memories and thoughts to consolidate them.
Love it, yes!
Yes!! When asked what I do with my time, I often list up thinking straight away. Spend a lot of time thinking. Just wish I had a beautiful view like that to inspire me. Thinking helps settle the chaos within if not the chaos without.
Beautiful field! Love all your thinking, creativity and keeping low and quiet during these impossible trying times.
Jude~ Oh that field! Gorgeous from here, but not sure my allergies would like it any better. But, still.
I really like the framing…the sleek frame holding the ragged edges -all visible – somehow feels like how we are holding ourselves together these days, variations of the fray showing at any given moment, yet using any technique we can to hold it together. Quite profound Jude.
Oye! Fall allergies. Drip, drip, sneeze.
😂
Definitely a lot of exterior chaos around lately.
Not sure what to say really…
I find the tension between allowing silence (or feeling tongue-tied) and chatter/making verbal notes/rambling/writing inherent in this creative-making/blogging business. Most of my feeling tongue-tied
of late has to do with the dumb timeline we’re living through though and not my creative process. I always really enjoy your explorations along these lines.
I feel like I’ve entered a quieter path…
I did my first solar dyeing this year, and guess what….I used golden rod!
More golden rod than people here!
Field looks pretty 💚
Hope your allergy clears up soon.
💙✌🏼
Just this past Wednesday I attended a Bible study. The teacher used a metaphor using a tapestry. The back was full of knots, pieces of hanging threads, evidence of punched holes, raveling, etc , however the front was a beautiful work of art. It was about trusting. Anyway, I found it interesting that the Spirit was busy speaking to you as well and how it reached me. Differences we most likely have yet still connected. Thanks Jude, I love your gift.
Oh, I like that glass framing, Jude! Its transparency is quite beautiful in revealing all the stitching. Unlike your stitching, which reveals all, our world is becoming less transparent…
Are the patches old? They seem wise…
Hope that is a field of Goldenrod, as it is not an allergen. Ragweed is!
Old and plant dyed.
Ragweed is growing with the goldenrod. So tricky, I hadn’t noticed till I walked through it.
yeah, ragweed was wicked here this year, but it’s almost done. hmmm, isn’t yours a field of goldenrod, or is the ragweed hiding amidst all that beautiful gold?
Mixed.
It is really dry here too, making it worse.
Framing the chaos ?
Yes!
Perfect question in so many ways!
