A Colder Morning

Seems clear that the season is turning. I don't know about you but I get the sense that everything is changing.  Well, everything is always changing, but this sense is different.

I cleaned the front porch a bit.  The roof leaks and that will be fixed soon.   The woodstove chimney gets cleaned Friday.  Just in time really.  I look forward to  a more relaxed fire burning situation.

A new little table, 20$ at a local auction.  I love little tables.

A little variation on the Wishing Star theme.  I haven't done any hand piecing in a while.  I felt out of practice.

Tiny triangles are tricky.

Anyway, keep your needle threaded...

Love little tables too, must thread my needle, I am also out of practise.
Your home and surrounds look so warm and wonderful, I do love nature and all it produces.

      Hi Ingrid!
It could have been rather funny watching me make this one. It felt like my first time, forgot to follow my own directions… ha!
It’s nice to be surrounded by nature’s flow.

The heat has yet to relent here in Ohio but there is a little less daylight each day, showdows are a bit longer and I have a night barn spider weaving big beautiful orbs each evening. The only constant is change. ✌🏼🫶🏻

I sensed the shift this morning as well, hot as blazes right up until last evening when it rained…finally, not enough to dampen the tinder dry forests in Nova Scotia but it got wet. Then so cool this morning that it was sweater weather and tonight as well. Hahaha, little tables! I fall for them too.

      quick change here too.
The delightful kind. Hurricanes brewing tho, I used to be near the coast so I still get nervous.
I’m thinking little wood tables in the forest might be swell.

  4. Not feeling fall here yet. I’m sort of apprehensive of the ever present threat of a heat wave this time of year.
But glad to know you and others have cooler temperatures now.
I’ll be wishing on your star!

It’s so unpredictable at this point. Folks here say this was a very odd summer. It’s very dry here now after such a wet season. I guess we will see. Winters are supposedly getting warmer. But not last winter, eek.

There’s turning out here in the west, too. There’s no denying it’s still summer, but the evening cool down faster and the light is different. Maybe it has something to do with the axis shift the Earth is apparently having . . . whatever that is supposed to do.
Love your little table. I like tables, too.

I have a corner table that my grandfather made out of a packing crate in the 1940s using hand tools. It has a scallop along the back edge of the top shelf that he carved by hand, and there’s a second shelf underneath. It’s about 4-ft X 3-ft. It’s so old and dried up that I can pick it up with one hand, but I love it. In fact, this has reminded me that I need to oil it so I can keep loving it longer.

Nice little table bargain. I love the woodpile and forest “picture”. If you took a photo from the same spot every day there would not be two the same. Would make a great scrapbook of the year.

that first pic, like a giant viewfinder, a magical picture frame… great score on the table! we were gatherin’ fallen pine cones yesterday. nice kindling for our wood-burner. definitely feelin’ the shift here in nor cal.

  8. Wool socks and warm, long sleeve shirt this morning, suits me well! I’m glad there will be more ease for you heating this winter. And, yeah, I feel bit shifts right now. Nice little moon piece.

Heh! “Keep your needle threaded”…I have my needles & pins at the ready (& scissors!)ha.
Fascinating star…reminds me of old mattress ticking ( which I’ve always loved)
Gosh! Cooler weather…a long way a at for us –if I don’t keep over from the heat, the damned mosquitoes might carry me off– horrid this year.
That little table is a great find!

I hate AI/autocorrect….even when I type the proper words, it changes it (& to something nonsensical, for cryin’ out loud) grrrr

Sensing change here, too. Aside from sensing , changes are all around me. My 3 dearest, closest friends have and are moving to Florida from Colorado.
Night are cooler, but days still in the mid 90’s. You just never know. I love your posts photos, artistry and responses from your followers. It’s a good thing!

Florida from Colorado? I can’t see the sense in that. But hey, who knows? It a nice conversation here, I appreciate it more and more .

I will keep mine threaded even through the fog 😶‍🌫️…don’t feel like I’m accomplishing much!
